I've only cheated myself out of 3yrs of my life (when she cheated on me and we "worked it out") to be cheated on multiple other times..

So sad.. but true.. I think, in some cases, if the male is the victim it normally goes unnoticed, unfortunately.

Thank you for sharing your story and perspective. I appreciate your honesty and the time you took to respond. To answer your first question, I feel guilty for myself because that's just who I am—an overly kind person who has been used and abused. Despite everything, I still feel bad. Since the divorce, I've worked hard to reel that back in, but I still help in my own way and need to continue working on that. I also feel a lot of sadness and guilt because I know what it's like to grow up with onl…

I'm sorry to hear you're going through this tough situation. I understand how challenging it can be to deal with someone like that. The behaviors you're describing self-projecting, self-centering, and narcissism all of which are things you need to stay away from for your own mental health and sanity and in my opinion do not belong in any healthy relationship. These are some of the reasons I left my divorce of 10yrs. Take care of yourself so you can be there for your kids. I know it's hard to mak…

You're right in so many ways, and i really appreciate you saying this. A very large majority of things I've learned over my years have come from other people's experiences and perspectives. So again, thank you. I want to raise strong children and kids who can learn from my failures and just be better humans than myself. I'd give everything for them to be more successful than I. I will use your last statement and really try to make a difference for myself and my kids!

Wow, I'm so sorry to hear, that is a long time to have to solo parent. 😢 I know it's a part of life, that take away here for me is, your right when you mentioned post full custody and picking when they see her. That's true. Biggest fear is if I take them she will say she has nothing and want to become suicidal. Again. 😪

This is a high consideration, I am a very documented person, and I have screenshots and tons of pictures saved. Although I do think this is a better route because it's automated and limits communication in the first place which I think is a practical angel.

I am beyond grateful for my mother.

This. My exact thought, like WHY? Why can she not just add detail. It's like they think we have crystal balls and know exactly the why. Ugh. I feel this.

I know this is probably the right thing, honestly, just feel horrible about it.

This is all I can think about for the kids. It's just so sad to me, I don't feel I could ever do that to them.. all I ever wanted was the kids to equally have the both of us. That comes from me not really knowing my dad.

I agree with this, I appreciate your reply, I want to ensure it's reflect on the whole picture prior from taking a leap. However, I am very conflicted because of our past, i am most lenient towards the need to initiate another attorney for custody. I have a strong feeling in my near future I will have the kids full-time time.

I feel this for sure, I'd give a lot for someone who invests the care I invest into others, and unfortunately, I just don't know what that feels like.

I know how similarly how you feel. I can closely relate, I just divorced two months ago, 10/22/24, and it took nearly 4 months to get through everything. In that time, she was spiraling and just got extremely petty and took everything to the next level. I've been called every name in the book, accused of being a rapist, pedo, abuser, cheater, you name it. She tried to put a protective order on me for a wide variety of things. All because of her mental health issues and relentless will to manipul…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
