As a woman, I think they should just abolish the draft.

As a female suicide victim I think that I did get more sympathy and less discrimination from healthcare workers, friends etc because of my gender.

Social media is bad for suicide rates because of the echo chambers. Only five percent of the population has attempted suicide, but there are five billion internet users so it’s a population of 250 million. They’re reinforcing toxic and distorted worldviews. I spent some time in those groups and they’re basically like those people who drank the Kool Aid tbh.

As a female suicide victim I will admit that I get more sympathy sometimes just because of my gender. Especially in relationships.

Men got away with cheating more because they could lie about an illegitimate child, not because society was okay with male cheating. In the cases where men had double standards on cheating (eg Henry VIII) it was because they were in positions of power. Powerful women like Cleopatra, Lucrezia Borgia, Elizabeth I etc got away with affairs too.

Thank you. Yep, that’s exactly what happened

Thank you. Women also tend to live alone less (for safety reasons). Someone who has attempted suicide is significantly more likely to survive if they get medical attention. Also men may hide their attempt from other people and may not call 911 or admit themselves, leading to a lower survival rate.

As a female suicide victim I admit that I get more sympathy, and have an easier time in romantic relationships, than if the genders were flipped. Male suicide is a serious issue.

Statistically seven percent of women have attempted suicide compared to three percent of men, but men die more frequently.

They are not a mens rights group, they send 12 year old boys to die in war and like 80% of the people they kill are men. Exactly what you are fighting against.

They should ban circumcision for both sexes unless medically necessary. If an adult wants to do it they can. Why force it on a baby? Also they wear diapers so that sounds like a way to get a nasty infection.

In a lot of these countries women are stereotyped as weak so parents will physically punish sons but “you can’t hit a woman.”

Seven percent of women and three percent of men have attempted suicide. It’s not at equal rates, but that also may be because the life expectancy for people who have attempted suicide is 65 for women but only 50 for men.

Because they don’t want their relatives to have to deal with a mutilated corpse or accidentally take someone out with them in a car crash? I would be horrified if my literal last moments on earth were spent killing someone.

Most rape victims get raped by friends or abusive partners. It’s very rare for someone to get raped walking home at night.

That’s impressive because the UAE has strict gender roles compared to other countries

Are they promoting what the women did? If they’re not, it’s just a true crime show not a man hating show.

As an actual suicide victim I don’t think we’re weaker per se but just tend to get stuck in temporary problems instead of seeing the big picture. We need support not mocking.

The lifetime prevalence of suicide attempts ranges from one to ten percent but is generally estimated at 5-6 percent. The higher estimates come from counting things like standing on a bridge and thinking about jumping off but not actually doing anything.

Also for men who are not divorced or separated, economic factors mean they have to work long hours and can’t see their kids as often.

As a female suicide victim I don’t think it’s fair to call us narcissistic or stupid. However I agree that we get more support than men, especially in relationships. Also a large factor in our high survival rate is that many people who attempt suicide will change their mind in the middle of it, which is less likely if feeling completely hopeless.

As an actual suicide victim, crying didn’t help. Wallowing in self pity made it worse. We need help to make positive changes in our lives.

As a female suicide victim I kind of agree that I get more support than I would as a man. I think in relationships there’s an expectation that men take care of women emotionally. It should be both ways.

80 percent of people who have attempted suicide were abused as children and there is less support for boys who get abused vs girls, maybe that would be an important thing to address?
