This is the advice people need when they’re lonely and posting on Reddit. But it requires too much bravery for people who are crippled with a victim mindset. Hopefully OP challenges themselves. Can’t win if you don’t play

So basically this is a story about a guy who was a 6.1 and became a 7.4 out of 10 got it.

Isn’t that outdated from 20 years ago? No one in the active dating scene is doing that. Just browsing through youtube, dating coaches have broaden their scope about learning to be better people with mental preparation for meeting new people. This sub is ok, but it’s an echo chamber. A lot of people looking for advice their not willing to take it. posters summarizing a few experiences with a lot of gaps in their explanations. Once in a while real conversations with unique perspectives about datin…

I’m confused OP, your advice is to leave this sub, but I see you’re back in this sub multiple times adding comments to the thread. How do we know your advice even works if you’re back this frequent?

Having no expectations is easy. Not being effected by those expectations is another especially when you have feelings involved. I have no expectations for people to fulfill their duties but I do not worry because I have mine. When relationships form if the conversation isn’t agreed to terms of the relationship then you have to blindly guess if this person is your true equal. All you can do is handle how these situations go in the best light hoping you sold that person on who you are.

Hmmm 🤔 More of the just be you advice.. the vaguest advice there is for people who don’t like themselves. Being honest works to a point, at a certain point of being honest there is too honest. You can’t just depend on honesty. You have to find your voice then build your confidence and learn to express yourself. Honesty is only 1 factor and it doesn’t really mean you’re accountable because honesty isn’t always portrayed by actions

Location matters a lot because there are expectations for certain types of encounters in certain locations. Certainly it’s not wrong to talk to people of opposite sex in malls or parks but your approach just needs to fit the context. I think OP’s approach is fitting for the scenario of a mall, park, but people will have different expectations day game / night game. I wouldn’t use this as a one fits all, but asking for directions is innocent, just don’t make that the reason why you ‘still’ want t…

What you’re describing is your sense nervous that comes into frame when talking to people you don’t regularly hold regular conversations with. That nervousness I’m familiar with and comes and goes. The best thing you can do is to breathe deeper and slow down your overthinking by listening more. Slowing down is more important than responding. When you’re nervous you’re likely to respond faster because you’re trying to maintain some sense of the situation rather than comment on the topic on hand w…

Neediness depending on the dynamic on what’s agreed to is rather a more blanketed term for needing comfort. It indicates one partner needing support. Support can be through validation. Attention. If you listen or read enough Reddit stories about break ups, divorce and cheating there are warning signs to a failing relationship that partners ignore. That is a level of neediness probably at the highest concern if that partner is willing to make a series of choices to betray a relationship. The chea…

I’d say this isn’t that accurate. Neediness works in specific cases when applied to stereotypical scenarios. I know this because over the years I’ve become a stereotype so there’s expectations of the role for me to be needy at times. The important part is ‘when’ to be needy. Most cases, for people who don’t understand neediness is a real thing, but in context should be broken down more. Often how people throw around that term neediness just indicates how many people are just labeling everything …
