I'm a little confused by this, hoping someone might be able to clear this up. At least in my experience, ID has been required every time I've ever rented a room at a hotel. As I am aware of it at least, it's for accountability reasons. If you damage their room or property they know who you are and can deal with it legally. Is that not common elsewhere in the world? How would a hotel that doesn't ID, prevent something like credit card run ups if they have no record of the guest to trace?

To be 100% fair while I agree she deserved a ticket and her arrogance helped warrant it, I myself don't know the rules on matching the flow/speed of traffic that well. Way back when I went through driving school as a teen they gave you contrasting rules on it every fucking lesson.
