I disagree that misandry and misogyny are equally bad. Yes, there are people who genuinely hate men, but we don't have Telegram groups with 70,000 women planning to rape men, or men being systematically killed by their wives and girlfriends.

Reminds me of this thread https://www.reddit.com/r/facepalm/s/GfhjD25iYu Thankfully, comments were sane.

I am a woman and I obviously oppose misogyny and violence against women. But, I'm not a fan of the gender essentialism that often pops out in feminist spaces. I wouldn't be surprised if this lady from Instagram turned out to be a TERF (TERFs are always accusing trans women of being dangerous because of male socialization). Edit: also, what if their daughter comes out as trans men? Will they try to kill their own child for joining the "opressors" side?

This is basically TIRF (trans-inclusionary radical feminism) for you. They will basically reduce everything to gender and ignore that opression is not black and white. There have been instances of trans men who were victims of corrective rape such as Brandon Teena. https://prismreports.org/2019/08/09/there-is-a-hidden-epidemic-of-violence-against-transmasculine-people/ Trans men are also specially vulnerable to violence as well.

A lot of the comments onthat petition about how black men are the most damgerous men feel incredibly racist. Sounds like they were written by the KKK.

But if someone consented, how is that "rape-adjacent"? I don't get their logic.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
