Also recently many stereotype-harm studies have been shown not to be replicatable. Newer studies show that it is a question of motivation and framing. People don't like being below average. When expectations are lower than what you know you can do, you are unlikely to give your best, because it's not needed. But obviously that's no problem in testing.
