Probably with quality shoes. I have some New Balance cross-trainers that have lasted the last 3 years and they're still in good enough condition to go on indefinitely. I've been doing a lot of work in these shoes. I've only had to replace the laces, at a cost of $2.50. The shoes themselves were $35 US. Shoes like that tend to last a good while, whereas shoes like converse et al wear out in 3 days because they're made of cheap, shitty material.

I think the fact that age of consent isn't standard across the board, shows arbitrary decision-making. When is somebody an adult? 16? 17? 18? 21? 14 in some places? And why are there different levels of adult consent? Why can somebody choose to have sex at one age, but have to wait until another to begin drinking? Vice versa? I disagree; For starters, I disagree with all the third party candidates' ideals. Second, I live in a large red state, and due to the electoral college system, I could vote any way I wanted to (or not at all) and my vote wouldn't matter. This isn't just a matter of throwing votes away, or being brainwashed- the majority of the residents of my state actually believe in Republican ideology, whatever it may be at the time. Whether the boy feels violated or not, the point is it's still legally a crime to do that. If it were a girl, even if she were okay with it, and it were a man who "perpetrated" the crime, there'd be a witch hunt. However, from a legal standpoint women can run for office, and statistically, more women vote for office, so why aren't we choosing between Hillary Clinton and Michelle Bachman right now? It's not about voter registration, it's about population makeup. 51% of the population is the majority, and for the purposes of the US election process, at least, that's enough. However, since women do not register to vote as often at men (take that suffragettes! Your fight was in vain, because women don't know how to be proper feminists anymore!) women don't take power.

What really offends me is the comments, which basically amount to saying "You go girl". MGM is analogous to FGM. Both are the removal of healthy sex organ tissue, both reduce the use of the genitalia, both can have serious complications. I can't either, but I think it's fucked up that she was charged with Lewd Battery and not Statutory Rape, like a man would have been. I mean, it's still sex with a person incapable of consent. I agree it boils down to the woman's control of her own body, but I think OP is talking about a lot of cases where the woman decides to do so, unilaterally, without even talking to the fetus's father, or bothering to know what he thinks. While it's not right to force a woman to grow a fetus in her body, it's not right to unilaterally decide to take a man's shot at a child away, at least not without mature discussion.

Having hover-handed in the past, and having known hover-handers, my experience has been overwhelmingly that hover-handers are just nervous virgins. Uncomfortable with girls? Taking a picture with a hot one? Let's actually put our hand on this person who incites such anxiety. Then you get all NOPE. The way I see it, PPACA is the best thing we've got. It's the best thing our squabbling congress could come up with, and it's better than the current system. I'm seriously curious, because all my research says it makes things at least a little better, unless you're right on the line between too poor to buy your own insurance and too wealthy to get subsidized insurance.
