-1	Freedom from Vanity Nothing wrong with being vain if you own it ;) The only harm I see is maybe a little insecurity, but also all the time you spend on makeup, etc could be spent on other things right? 1	Freedom from Vanity Yeah that's true too I guess, isn't it funny how both extremes seem to hint at insecurity? I also fully agree that it's not always vanity, I think the question is where is the balance, men don't put on makeup (at least most don't) but they do shave their beards and go to barber shops if they go every week to rhe barber shop for a 1 hour hair appointment, I'd say that hints at vanity, yet it's totally normal for a woman to spend an hour every day putting on makeup and doing her hair. -2	Freedom from Vanity How do you figure that? Isn't it a natural human characteristic to be curious about other people and their thoughts? As a feminist I really care about the empowerment of women and it hurts me to see people adhering to patriarchal or societial dictates about how women should look and act. 1	Freedom from Vanity It's cool that you enjoy it and it sounds like you're weighing all the options fairly. One thing I will say about "letting go" of yourself when you're in a relationship though is that we all age and change and that's a beautiful thing to share with your partner. It would be different if you were being treated differently because you felt confident, but if people are just judging you on your appearance that doesn't sound like a superpower to me?
