Thankfully you didn't cheat. That not only impacts your marriage but your children too. Inviting instability into their lives (especially during these time) is unfair and cruel. You need to shut down your mom immediately when she makes these comments. He is your husband and the father of your children. She needs to respect him and your family. My husband gets like that too sometimes, usually its just extreme stress or depression. Making sure you're handling most of the chores/parenting will help…

I just want recipes/homemaking/parenting/entertaining&hosting/etc. I want strong relationships with my family, friends, and community and there's no place for women who want those things anymore.

Adding a couple more examples from people I know: Had 2-3 long relationships that didn't work out (Usually with a guy who was abusive or borderline abusive and didn't have the confidence/emotional stability to leave) Got a professional degree that required intense time commitment in a town where they don't know many people (likely spent these years too depressed to date)

Just reading your comments about the state of the renovations, it sounds like may be that bad. I imagine 4 kids and homeschooling is CRAZY. Realistically, the things that need to be fixed your husband should handle either by doing it himself or hiring someone. If you have family nearby, they also may be able to help with smaller fixes. I wouldn't sweat the bigger renovations, but small things like steam cleaning the carpet and removing wallpaper to paint properly can both be handled for around $…

My husband also was like this but now I can prep and freeze several meals. I basically did it, let him try it, and then let him know that it was frozen. If he gave me a thumbs up, I would continue making it as a freeze and save food.

We went to a garden and then had a nice dinner. At dinner, they brought out the 24 yr old bottle we bought in France, so I knew a ring was coming sometime that night. After dinner he proposed in front of the giant Christmas tree downtown. It was simple but special. I couldn't stop crying. He knew how important marriage is to me and he said it was nice to see how happy I was when he proposed. I think he would've been happy waiting longer to propose, but I made it clear when we first started datin…

I usually do the shopping once a week after I have planned the meals and check the pantry for ingredients. I like to keep the pantry stocked with the basics just in case things get busy and don't do the shopping. The amount I spend differs usually since every 3 months I usually go to Costco and get certain things in bulk.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
