I seem to recall that someone did do such a survey once, and as expected almost all the feminists were in the top left. Strange that a movement supposedly fighting against entrenched power structures would be authoritarian... It's almost like they aren't powerless victims at all!

Don't be so sure. The majority of MRAs sued to be feminists until we woke up and smelled the bullshit. If most feminists (the laypeople on the street that think feminism is actually about equality) realise the truth they might abandon ship and join up with a group that is fighting for equality (e.g. us). If most people who are now feminists join the MRM, i'd say that fulfills the criteria of a merge.

This is the best summary of the feminist movement I've ever read. Historically, there were male responsibilities, male privileges, female responsibilities, and female privileges. Feminism calls the first two "privilege" and the last two "oppression" in order to justify its bigoted actions by pretending that male responsibilities give power and female privileges are oppressive. That said (and this part is not a response to you specifically, but to all of us), we must remember the difference betwe…

When asked how an accused person could prove that they obtained affirmative verbal consent, the co-author of the bill remarked, "Your guess is as good as mine. I think it’s a legal issue. Like any legal issue, that goes to court." In other words, she says "I don't give a fuck". Very telling.

Don't be so quick to come to that conclusion - many MRAs are mothers of sons who became MRAs because they care about their (male) children. I agree however that the "average Joe/Jane" on the street gives approximately 0.0 shits about men, though.

I agree. People simplify their political views too much, either using a one-dimensional left vs. right scale or a two dimensional left vs. right plus authoritarian vs. libertarian. There are really three main dimensions: authoritarian vs. libertarian, socially liberal vs. socially conservative, and economic left vs. economic right.

He probably is at the stage where he realises that feminism is broken but has not yet decided to check out the MRM for himself. He still believes what he has been told about us (by feminists). I wish there was some way to show everyone that we aren't monsters saying "hurr durr let's rape women and stuff".

As far as I am aware it is both. Men taking risks makes sense from an evolutionary perspective (easier for a few men plus many women to sustain a population than the other way around). But additionally our culture almost forces men to take risks if they want to be acknowledged. Ever noticed how men are more or less ignored unless they're famous or do something spectacular while women are valued for simply existing? In other words, the nature/nurture debate is almost completely irrelevant when it…

I think MRAs don't discuss it because the MRM treats people like people. We don't care what your sex, gender, race, or whatever else is. Ironically, some people (looking at you SJWs) consider us to be discriminatory because we DON'T discriminate o_0 Ninja edit: formatting

If you look up stats on attempted suicide, you can see that guns have a "success" rate of approx 85% and overdoses have a "success" rate of under 1%. Bet you can't guess the favored method of each sex. /s

It pisses me off that airlines treat all men like pedophiles. As far as I know there has been one case of in-flight child sexual abuse in history, and it was a woman abusing a boy. 100% of the perpetrators were women, we better blame men! /s EDIT: I can't find the original source and I found some contradictory evidence which might have happened since I first read it. I retract my original statement, but I'll leave it there for the benefit of the thread.

Sorry, slight mistake. It wasn't board positions, it was university positions. I'm not sure if the law passed but it was planned. Basically, it started when a bunch of women who didn't get in to the courses they wanted successfully sued the university for discrimination for the affirmative action of putting men first as women made up over 60% of people in the course. Yeah, I hope the MRM doesn't end up taking power and blame everything on misandry the way feminism did with misogyny. I don't want to have to tear down the thing I tried to create.

I can't remember the source, but I read that Sweden introduced quotas so that board members had to be split no more than 60/40 according to gender. Then when the biased education system led to more female than male executives they ABOLISHED THE QUOTA because apparently it "wasn't fair to limit women's opportunities"! How can people still believe that feminism is about equality when shit like this happens?

Because feminists believe in the patriarchy. For the sake of the argument you assume their premise is true and then find a logical contradiction to prove them wrong.

I did call myself a feminist, but my understanding of it at that time was the oft-repeated "feminists want equality, if believe in equality then you are a feminist". Once I realised what feminism was truly like and learned of the existence of the MRM (both happened at around the same time for me) I "defected". Feminist theory is incompatible with men's rights, and feminism without feminist theory is not feminism but egalitarianism. So no.

I hope we never see the day where the MRM starts pushing for supremacy instead of equality. If it does then I will feel obligated to fight it, just as I am fighting feminism because it stepped took a running jump over the line.

I was referring to feminists refusing or somehow being unable to control for variables in statistics (e.g. the statistics "proving" the gender pay gap). Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I believe "they" are the powerful feminists (e.g. Hilary Clinton, Barrack Obama, etc.), feminist organisations (NOW, White Ribbon Foundation, World Health Organisation, etc.), and feminist governments (practically every Western government, as well as others such as India). The average feminist has been deceived by these people and groups into thinking that they are furthering the cause of equality, when in all reality they are fighting it by giving support to those people and groups who do what …

Most people have been deceived into hating us. They receive untold amounts of (false) information condemning us, and then we expect them to wake up and see the light because we present arguments that contradict everything they have ever learned. It does not matter how good our arguments are if people unthinkingly dismiss them without giving them thought. The average person does not check sources, and they do not question the popular view. They latch onto the first or most appealing idea that com…

Depends on the definition of equality. It sounds like by equality you mean equality of outcome. I am against this, as it is a brute force "solution" to the symptoms of inequality but ignores the causes. I am for equality of opportunity, which basically is ending all discrimination against everyone.

That article also was the final nail in feminism's coffin for me. I knew feminist theory was deeply flawed, but the article showed the extent of the madness by taking away the last scrap of justification for the sexist actions of feminists.
