It was only very recently approved for males to use after studies. Most insurance companies still will not cover it.

It's a very recent thing. My brother is trying to get it but our insurance won't cover it just yet. I think that's why it wasn't originally included in the bill- it's very very new. Btw it's Gardisil, the same vaccine girls get.

Kids trump spouses every time. What's the controversy here?

I worked at a restaurant and it was about fifty/fifty genderwise for each job, even with managers- half women and half men. A couple of my girlfriends were cooks, one was even the dishwasher. Honestly the guy waiters usually got better tips because of how charming they were. Everyone that I knew that worked at any restaurant had the same experience, except for Hooters.

...where? All I see is discussion about this comment saying that he should've killed the woman.

I honestly don't know a single couple where it's just "boy gives girl present." Rather, it's "give each other a cute present" day. I think that the consumer world unfortunately presents it that way in some commercials and whatnot, but in real life, it's not that way. Hell, when my boyfriend and I went out to dinner last year for V-day, we split dinner. Definitely depends on the couple.

Having been with someone who joked about abusing me and then did it, yes, there is a fine fucking line.

No, really there's not.

Of course, the particular comment mentioned is neither particularly funny or intelligent Doesn't sound like a joke to me.

There is a huge difference between physical goofy comedy and violence.

It still wouldn't be funny if it was a girl saying she should do this to a guy.

Depends on the divorce agreement, but that can happen. My dad is still paying child support for me, and will until I turn 23. Glad of it too, because he owes my mom a fuckton of money for the house they bought and all the school debt he accrued and if the state didn't garnish his wages my mom wouldn't get any of the money owed her.

ugh...this is so stupid. Can't people just open doors for each other to be nice? Not because of gender? Or just whoever gets to the fucking door first? edit: oh, I forgot, rational ideas are downvoted because they're rational, and being female sure as hell doesn't help.

Holy crap. This is terrible. Just please know that not all women would say this or even come close to agreeing. This is fucking disgusting. Shows like this are stupid enough, but this is beyond goddamn disturbing. :(

I completely agree with this (probably the first time on this subreddit ;). I think it should be the responsibility of both partners, and this would make it that much easier. Great essay.

You didn't have any adverse side effects, like decreased sex drive and crappy skin?

Question (unrelated to the topic, I do agree with what you're saying though)- why didn't you just tie your tubes instead of getting a hysterectomy?

Honestly, you might want to turn the mirror on yourselves. A discussion yesterday was "invaded" by downvotes. Everything every female said was downvoted, and there was outrage because the people saying hateful comments were banned (on both sides). It was incredibly frustrating to see how impossible enlightened conversations can be. I believe that many of your ideas have merit, however, I cannot participate in any discussions with you all because any dissenting opinion is downvoted purely because…

I'm sorry, but where did this graph come from? And what messages- from Facebook or Reddit or what?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
