You’ve met only one woman who you considered intelligent enough to be your friend? Lol what

Cues can be read wrong, which is why the higher things escalate the clearer everybody should be about consent IMO. And I don’t think people should try to guess if they have consent, especially if they are inebriated or inexperienced

Surveys are not necessarily feelings based any more so than testimony at a trial. If the survey only asks how the person felt, then it’s feelings based. But surveys about rape sometimes avoid even using the work because of how inflammatory it is and instead ask what happened. As an aside, a lot of people don’t realize that testimony is evidence. As for the point about conviction rates, the fact is that rape isn’t easy to prove. Usually there are only two witnesses to the alleged crime and they a…

Give how many people think they are entitled to assume consent and do what they want until they get a no, I find it quite easy to see how “accidental” rape happens

The vast majority of rapes are never reported to the police, so obviously the conviction rate is going to be way low. Also, at least in the US the standards for conviction is quite high, beyond a reasonable doubt. I’m all for having a high standards for conviction, but it also means a failure to convict is not an exoneration. That’s why OJ was able to be successfully sued for killing his ex even though he was acquitted in a criminal court.

Lol similar thing happened to me: https://www.reddit.com/r/PurplePillDebate/comments/tux9kr/daily_community_chat_megathread/i3a3nfq/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3

Nailed it
/r/PurplePillDebate04/04/22 06:46 PM

There are some women who are fine with that, especially if you’re bankrolling their lifestyle
/r/PurplePillDebate04/04/22 12:23 AM

That’s what I figured. What is the something more, or does it refer to any sort character defects?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/04/22 10:06 PM

What is there to disprove? I thought it was pretty much undisputed that the calculator treats the variables as independent when they aren’t. Fwiw I actually like both calculators and think they’re fun to play around with. But they aren’t particularly accurate because they don’t account for conditional probabilities, as others have pointed out
/r/PurplePillDebate03/04/22 10:05 PM

True. The reason race came to mind is because of how drastically attitudes about it vary in the US, even within relatively short distances
/r/PurplePillDebate03/04/22 09:57 PM

Yeah I don’t personally care if somebody else has “reasonable” standards or not. I’ve just noticed language being thrown around and I’m curious how people are thinking about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/04/22 09:55 PM

Do daddy issues mean having a bad or troubled relationship with your dad or is there something more?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/04/22 09:51 PM

I would generally agree, with the caveat that if race specifically seems to be an obstacle moving to a different region can improve your options
/r/PurplePillDebate03/04/22 09:38 PM

How do you judge the “reasonableness” of a person’s dating standards? Is there any difference in how you judge this for men vs. women?

(1) Answer question asking about my personal experience (2) Get attacked for talking about my personal experience. This place is wild haha

That would be an unexpected twist lol

Gotta love PPD. One guy asks me to describe my personal dating standards. When I do, another guy hops on the thread and makes a bunch of false assumptions about me. When I call him on it he says: “None of this is about you, it’s about men and women in general. If you want to personalize it to make a strawman argument, okay, have a nice day” Amazing

Interesting. I skip over those posts so I don’t know what the big titty discourse is on here. I assumed (perhaps wrongly) that most women on here wouldn’t give a shit

Do you get a lot of grief for that?

Less so than men in my experience

Being the victim of abuse is obviously awful. The truth is that there isn’t usually a “good” option for people in that situation. Going through the criminal justice system is often shitty as a victim, and leaving isn’t always safe (as you point out with your harassment point). The best most people can do is try to plan an exit strategy that will minimize the risk to themselves

Yeah I think that’s one reason why OLD is such a bad mechanism for most men seeking relationships with women (aside from the gender skew). I think organic in person interaction is the key, but a lot of guys on here struggle to have the kinds of social lives that are conducive to that. And the atomization of people’s lives here in the US doesn’t help either

Yeah I wouldn’t even count the stuff that lasts only a few months as love. The love I’ve know has grown stronger over the years not weaker

Where did you learn that? Not in biology class I’m guessing

We’re talking about dating not ONS right? But either way. There is highly effective long term contraception on the market, so as a woman this zero effect on who I choose to date or have sex with.

True, there are way fewer women for me to choose from

I’m a girls and I’ve already found a girlfriend so yeah it’s not rocket science

I think this is probably the best approach. But everybody should always be prepared to pay for themselves just in case.

I’m not upset at the idea of always splitting the bill on first dates. But I think it will discourage women from “taking a chance” on a first date that they aren’t already super jazzed about. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing tbh, but I somehow doubt it would make the men on this sub happier.

Fwiw I don’t mind the completely bald look! It really suits some guys. And most men go bald eventually anyway

I prefer for my relationships to be based on honesty and mutual respect

Word. I really don’t understand where people on PPD got the impression that men are the gatekeepers of relationships. Not at all true in my experience.

My response would be the same. Also Ryan Gosling ain’t even cute.

5’6” guy is the winner here

As much as I hate to say it, somebody being very fat would probably not work out from a physical attraction angle. There are exceptions to every rule though.

I don’t think many women have a hard limit of 6’2”. A preference? Sure.

Nah Hemsworth is way too big. Evans is bulkier than ideal IMO, but not as bad.

I do think people often show the worst parts of themselves to people close to them

In some ways, I don’t think it’s helpful to characterize all relationships as either entirely abusive or entirely non-abusive. In think the reality is that relationships often have abusive elements because people haven’t leaned good relationship skills and are often bad at managing their emotions.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/22 01:23 AM

I think a majority of romantic relationships involve emotional abuse. The number of people who are deliberately cruel to or controlling of their partners is staggering. It’s pretty normalized tbh

I think most of the men here are single, but that just my general impression

Bruh finding a decent man to marry is not easy at all. Same can be said for women too. Truth is that most people are terrible at relationships, and a lot of them don’t even know it.

It hasn’t significantly affected my life as I’ve been in a LTR for quite a long time. But if I ever get back into the dating scene I’ll probably be more rigorous in my vetting.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
