Just one more thing they expect us to do for them.

Mine was finalized in December. He left me for another woman, but then dragged his feet and did nothing. I know people so got a deal from a divorce attorney friend and filed. We had to completely drag him into the process, even though nothing was contested and we settled in about fifteen minutes when we finally got him to the table. He is incredibly passive aggressive and I feel like it was his way of exercising control because I had no problem jumping in and taking care of things. I think he th…

In my 50s and on the coast, and it's looking pretty terrible over here too. I got rid of OLD because it just made me dislike men more than I already did.

I just want to say that I really appreciate this analogy.

Those beards!! They're so so bad. Unkempt and you can just imagine all the food crumbs stuck in them. But I'm in my 50s and I think at least 70% of the over 40 men lie about their age. That and the beards are the things I see the most.

I am 52, newly divorced and about a year separated. I've found OLD to be full of dummies and liars. I've pretty much lost interest in dating. I'm pretty happy on my own at the moment and I haven't met anyone or even seen a whiff from someone that's worth changing things. Something might change but I'm fine with being alone. This sub did give me that strength to recognize that if it's not adding to my life I don't want it. So not finding anything like that, I'm good with alone.

This is my ex. Any time he got called out on something, including saying incredibly mean things to me, there would be about two hours of him crying and talking about what a terrible person he is until I ended consoling him. Every. Time. This is a manipulative control tactic that I eventually stopped responding to, so he left me for a much younger woman that showed sympathy to him over his horrible marriage to a shrew wife. She ghosted him as soon as I moved out (I don't think she had acknowledge…

I think this is probably true. I just finished divorcing an emotionally abusive man and I'm feeling a lot better. I've been having a lot more spontaneous conversations with other women since I moved out, and within the past few weeks I'm starting to notice some men looking at me. I'm middle-aged so I thought I had just aged out of notice, but now I'm thinking maybe not. The (non) issue now is that I'm not really interested in anything.

This is my ex-husband for sure. Two hours after asking him to clean up after himself, and I was consoling him for making him feel so bad. Never again.

I've done pretty much all of them and the guys on OKCupid are representative of the guys on OLD in general, I'm afraid. I do like that you can get more info up front on OKCupid, but that doesn't seem to help in the long run. The guys on all of the OLD platforms are pretty terrible and super low effort. I've paid and it doesn't help.

Right? I'm like, "that's a rough 55."

My favorites are the ones where the guy is obviously much older than he says in his profile. OK, so you’re a liar that thinks I’m really stupid. It’s ubiquitous in the middle aged range I was looking in (I’m in my 50s).

So many men lie about their ages on OKC. And it's so visibly obvious they're tons older. I don't know what's worse, the lying or the arrogance that they think they can pass for the age they claim.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
