And any society that doesn't change with the times is doomed to fall. The foundations of Western World that made it successful lay in science and free speech and advancement. Not in inhibiting growth of half the world's population. Ah yes, financial dependence upon the man (husband, father or even brothers for unmarried women) somehow means I am discounting the hardwork of women related to these men.
