Is it at all possible that you weren't able to afford your financial commitments together while married, and she was the one carrying the weight of 'almost being homeless,' as the lower income spouse? I've seen that happen. I've seen men forced to give up hobbies, collections, social activities and personal property to climb out of it.

Might makes right is allowed in all sorts of other areas of law. Possession is 9/10ths of the law is what they say. This is why men often seek access and women often seek support. It usually isn't 50/50 before the separation. The women who are in massive arrears unfairly will also lose their passports. People who do not have drivers licences in America can usually obtain age of majority cards, professional lisencing may have photo ID... And your gun lisences too. A passport is a document that shows a country will take responsibility for you as a citizen. If you aren't following the orders of your domestic judges, it would make sense to not vouch for you.
