How long did you live there? Her house or are both names on mortgage? If it was her house, and you lived in it...at least in Michigan you are entitled to 50% of the appreciated value while you lived under the roof since date of marriage. Source: I paid her. F that bitch.

My situation was over our son. She decided I couldn't see him for almost a year. I was offered like 4 hours every other weekend or something VERY small. He (the mediator) kept pushing how great of an offer it was. I declined. Twice. I know have our son like 10 out of 14 overnights.

I disagree. Mediators are paid to close the case. They'll tell the losing party what a great deal the ex is offering blah blah blah. Skip that part.

They'll make you do mediation more than once if nothing happens. My now ex wife was like talking to a wall. Waste of time. Mind you every case is different but the mediators job is basically to tell her in your case what a great offer it is.

So, for what its worth...like 99.7% of all divorce gets settled. Im in Michigan and my attorney had told me in her 21 years of practice i was the third case to go to trial. AKA in front of a judge. And, as expected...(ex)she settled. Simply had no case. Sounds as your in same situation.

Basically her emotional "want" means nothing in court. Its obviously a marital asset. Regardless of who has paid for it. You can afford it. She cant. Its pretty easy situation. The judge most likely will agree.

Its not as bad as it sounds. It happened to me. I was so against it until the attorney was like your arguing over like $1800. I was like do tell more. SO, what she is entitled to is her share of the appreciated value during the marriage. Its fairly easy to figure out if you want me to share more.

I tell you this much, I did absolutely everything by the book per my attorney and it was well well worth it. Personal recommendation, when it comes to divorce attorneys...hire a divorced female attorney. They play nasty! **added info, just noticed the date, all my bs started 2 years ago. Today.

It'll settle before it makes it that far. In my divorce, attorney told me I was the 3rd case in her 21 years of practice that has went to trial. AKA, in front a judge. My now ex wife settled when she learned I get to be on the stand to. She'll fold.

My now ex wife went sinister during our divorce. If it was rightfully mine and attorney thought we'd win i gave her (the attorney) green light to fight for it. In your case, It sounds like its legally yours. Id take it and keep that between you and the judge. Personally absolutely NOBODY knows my finances. Who would know im receiving Cs or anything else?
