| 1 | Would single motherhood really decrease if child support and welfare were abolished?I could definitely see the abortion rate going up. I could also see some men using this to keep their wives/GFs from leaving. There would be more “intact families” but they’d be as happy as a mosquito in Antarctica. If whatever hypothetical right wing force had the power to abolish welfare then it would be certain that abortion would have already been done away with.
