You gotta move out. I don’t care what your lawyer says. Those kids don’t deserve to see that stuff.

Look, don’t beat yourself up about it. Understand that people will never see the world the exact same way that we do. The sooner you move on the sooner you free yourself from all of this. You got this 🫡

This is some damn solid advice and it’s what I’ve been doing for the last six months. It makes all the difference in the world.

Yeah, those first few weeks really break you down to the core of who you really are. But I could not agree more that feeling sorry for myself was the first thing I had to stop doing and the easiest trap to fall into.

And it will for a little while. It really hurts now and there are no words somebody can give you to take the hurt away. 7 years is a long time and this won’t be an overnight process but a gradual one. Just don’t fall into the trap of blaming yourself and creating a lot of self-imposed depression. Nobody walks the same road in this life and you’re not obliged to explain yourself to anyone. I’m coming off of a marriage of 21 years and I’m six months into my divorce. A lot of what I’m telling you i…

The way you feel now and maybe even tomorrow is not the way it’s always going to be. When I first got divorced, I felt like my world was crumbling and a lot of people told me that and I didn’t wanna listen to them. Looking back about six months later, I can tell you it’s absolutely the truth. Your life will improve, but it does so incrementally. Do yourself a favor you deserve by taking care of your physical body. Get at least eight hours of sleep tonight. Do some form of regular exercise, even …

I’m about five months into my divorce and what I can tell you is that when you feel bad your vision tends to be skewed and you tend to believe worst case scenarios. Just keep working on yourself and I’m not preaching but really try to stop drinking that alcohol. There’s not a problem in your life that that will not make exponentially worse. I wish you the best in your journey brother.

Couldn’t agree more. The adjusting is the hard part but it can also be a fun self discovery in a way. We will find our new “normal”. 👍

My only unsolicited advice would be to not let it be your rage that fuels you but your desire to reach your better self. I’m having to tell myself this very same thing and it’s actually helping quite a bit. For me if I’m being fueled by rage that I’m still letting that other person control me. Don’t give her the satisfaction. Best of luck to you and your journey my brother 👍

Sound advice. Never lose control of your emotions as you’re likely playing into a trap.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
