It's funny you say that because I'm in the midst of struggling with finding the right fit for a therapist, and questioning whether I should keep up the search. Having a space to vent without feeling like a burden is great, but like you said, when every other waking moment is fantasizing about self-harm, what's the use? when I'm even more angry than usual I'll boot up Skyrim As someone with around 2000 hours logged, I relate to this so hard. Probably the ultimate comfort game.

Yup. The whole push towards mental health care feels dismissive at best. There's no genuine concern behind it. It's either said as a "go away" to someone who's difficult to deal with, or like when someone tells you to try eating chia seeds to cure your cancer.

I keep seeing this mantra of "not all men is not a contribution, it's inaction, etc." But I'm not at all clear what it is we're supposed to do? "Call out this behaviour when you see it." Sure, but do you think I keep the company of rapists, monsters, etc.? Am I meant to go around seeking bad behaviour in strangers and calling it out? Am I meant to be a vigilante? Like, decent men who are living their lives are not actively enabling egregious behaviour. Yet they should still wear some kind of res…
