Basically, men are less risk adverse then woman, more likely to take chances, and more likely to succeed or fail spectacularly. It doesn't just end there though, it kind of applies to all aspects of life. Gay men experience the lowest. Single mothers are far more likely to abuse their children then single fathers are. They grow up over loved and adored because society has a much higher value placed on girls and young woman, and they start to consider that the baseline level of attention.
