This is perhaps the best post I've ever seen on here.

You're not hearing me. I'm not disagreeing with anything in your post, just expounding on a few points. There is absolutely no replacement for high-intensity realism, like getting punched in the face at full force every time you fuck up. I'm saying there are additions to the picture of a man dedicating himself to a martial discipline because that way of living resonates with him. Your annoyance is with bullshit systems and the way they're pushed, advertised, marketed, and get status because that…

He's kinda right though man. I've trained over a decade in a semi-traditional martial art and sure, it's not as down-to-it as taking fists to the face every day. But a key aspect of deterring street aggression is confidence, Im sure you'll agree. Training for years, hundreds of days, thousands of hours has that effect. Not to mention the study and application of technique. I suppose the caveat here is it's not just about the movements, though building muscle memory responses is not something to …

Hmm. Okay, I hear you, but ask yourself this. What's the more important impact on your children: that they occupy the high luxury class lifestyle, or that their parents (well, father) are taking steps to make their lives happier and stronger. I know very few people who's parents stayed together growing up - divorce, splitting, two households is very common these days. Your kids are going to be growing up and absorbing their values in the next few years. Don't think for a moment they won't know m…

You're right. Terms of superior and inferior are incorrect for this type of evaluation.

Can i just take a moment to say that this thread represents my favorite aspect of this subreddit: the unrestricted pride, appreciation, and camaraderie this community shows when another man expresses his accomplishments with gratitude and humility. There is no one up manship or envy, just a genuine pleasure about a brothers path forward and a true hope for his future success. Nothing feigned, no bullshit.

Id really like to see a post elaborating on this notion.

Best simple explanation of comfort tests I've seen so far. Thanks man.

As a realist I'm finding it easy to dismiss that.

I have never posted here, an likely never will again, but as a writer this kind of duplicitous cherry picking to suit a personal bias bullshit absolutely infuriates me.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
