Call a few lawyers and get an hour free consultation, they explain the process in your state and situation. Start working out, find a yoga class, get into therapy. It will be hard and painful, but you will make it and either embrace your new freedom and experiences or become bitter and see yourself as a victim for the rest of your life. You got this!

It’ll pass, stay busy and learn to love yourself and be your own best friend

26 years, 2 kids, best friends and never fought…3.5 years later, no regret. Open your heart and celebrate new life where you can find it…

This was terrifying to me at first, but you’ll adjust, they need you to be the best dad you can be. Make the most of the time when you’re with them, really engage with them, make time to take them for dinner when you don’t have them. Be very selective about who you end up with next, you need somebody that can accept your children as their own

You’re a good dude, you’re going to find somebody and you’ll look back on this time of your life lovingly... you did it! You’re free as a bird in this moment! Make memories with yourself! Meet new people! Have a year of answering yes to every new opportunity. It will pass and you’ll find yourself in a relationship with somebody that loves you and this will all be an exciting and boring time in your life.

I’ve been divorced about a year, after 16 years married, met lots of interesting women and had a crazy year. One told me, speaking about divorce and alimony...freedom isn’t free.

Download Headspace and listen to their sleepcasts. I took “benzodiazepines” for a few months, but are very addictive and can mess with your brain, so weened off after 2-3 months.

Together 25+ happy years, she hit 40 and decided to leave me for a convicted criminal that spent decades in prison. Who does that?!?

Sorry dude, hang in there, things will get better. My therapist said he’s never seen co-habitating last more than 6 months (I made it 9 and think it was one of the biggest mistakes of my life).

Been there, 26 years together, 17 years happily married then I discovered the dark place she was hiding for 18 months. Spent a year in therapy. Yoga 3-4x/week. Joined a book club. Spent a couple of months trying to convince her to stay. Met a girl, then another then many more after that. Grieved for about 6 months, slowly healed for another 6. Still have anger and resentment a couple of times/day after a year and most people say that’s a rapid recovery. Finally feeling good most of the time. Be …

It’s not fair, it hurts, but try to allow yourself to heal and embrace all the world has to offer. Resentment and confusion are inevitable, but don’t let it fester and shorten your life. There’s a big wide world out there waiting for you, money or not.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
