I speak from what I have seen personally. With age differences, there is a greater likelihood that someone is being led on or that power imbalances exist in the relationship. Not all the time, but enough to be hesitant about being the significantly younger partner in any relationship.

Misinterpreting is the crux of the matter but not in the way you state. You can't offer those verses as evidence for your points because you don't understand them or the context. This verse that you replied to with, Seems pretty self-explanatory. I like it. is not at all self-explanatory. But you don't know that because you cherry picked verses and ran with them. That is fundamentally disrespectful. Now have the last word. I've made my point 4 times over.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/15 04:04 PM
-1

How am I being disrespectful? Glad you asked. You are being disrespectful by picking verses of book you have no investment in and drawing out bits and pieces to twist for sick purposes. You lack context and sincere study. You approach those verses with your agenda rather than its agenda approaching you. That makes all the difference. Tread lightly on the texts of someone else's faith.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/15 03:38 PM
-1

Whether or not I am one shouldn't matter; Actually it matters more than any of your original questions. You don't need to answer though. Just consider how disrespectful you are to another faith when you quote texts without having the context of a genuine belief in that faith.

OP didn't respond and maybe tossed me a downvote. Still I'm curious so I'll keep my line of questioning going. What does the OP think of Galatians 3:28 and how that factors into just what the God of the Bible thinks about gender roles? There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. What also does the OP think about Phillipians 2:3 and how it lasers in on TRP myopic focus on selfish ambition and conceitedness? Do nothin…

I keep seeing examples of older women playing those roles. This one most recently. This social change is very interesting to watch happen.

You can see this in our actors, males get to be sex-symbols longer. Here's reality: 99.999% of men are not going to be Hugh Hefner or a celebrities seen as sex symbols in their golden years. The average male is not going to age like George Clooney or Brad Pitt. (And just between you and I...Those guys have been looking worn rough for a long time. Age finds everyone.) The average man starts sliding down in attractiveness by age 28. The second component is that women don't consider physical looks …

It showed that the dating market for women gets very competitive after thirty A possible fix for this is for women to date younger than themselves. But they usually don't want to. I see signs of that changing though. There are many, many more women with younger boyfriends than in past decades.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/15 04:25 PM
2

Women find younger men more physically attractive too. The average conventionally attractive 30+ man was, or had the potential to be, even better in his 20s. But relationally, she'll typically not want to put up with the personality issues of a younger man. So she dates in her age range or older but her eyeballs can still judge what is visually better.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/15 04:22 PM
6

most 30+ men aren't desirable to most 20 y/o women, That's pretty true. A 20 year old woman usually is looked on as settling below herself if she is dating a significantly older man.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/15 04:20 PM

Why do RPW encourage women to marry young if it's not the best outcome for them while TRP encourages men to do everything for their own selfish interest ? RPW was created by TRP. RPW have very little room to criticize TRP or they get banned from the sub. The result is an incestuous little pit of women who are trying to scratch out a "strategy" while not infringing on what best suits selfish TRPers.

When I say "100% attention/focus/doting/priority/whatever", I'm referring to devotion, to knowing that their heart is 100% yours. This was good answer. Other parts had a condescending tone and caused me to lose interest in conversing with you further. Take care.

I would say that jealousy stems from feeling like you're not getting 100% of someone's love Interesting view point. 100% sounds like obsession. I want my spouse to have his own interests, and I appreciate that he supports me having mine. We're intermingled at some, most even, points of our lives, but separate at others. Work is one place we are separately devoted. There are also other friendships and familial relationships we place effort into. For instance, he does not feel like I am sacrificin…
/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/15 03:53 PM

So the crux of this is really not that women can't love men the way they want. The problem is that men have gotten a very unrealistic idea of love and believe women should satisfy it or else disappointment or worse. How do men get this unobtainable idea of love?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/15 01:19 AM
5

The priority is an interesting idea. Do you think that single dads will love their LTRs more than their children? (I haven't witnessed this. Parental love seems very powerful).
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/15 08:44 PM
8

So a woman's reasons for leaving and staying with a man are always suspiciously viewed. Only men get a free pass. Constructive discussion with you ends here. Thanks for the chat.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/15 08:28 PM

9

Interesting. I was just reading this. It seems to show just the opposite.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/15 08:20 PM
15

Yeah, I'm not sure you did either. But you did give the exact opposite of "unconditional love", which is what some posters here are trying to say that men offer. Men's romantic gestures and 'niceness' come from some universal socio-karmic belief that by doing 'good', 'good' will come to them. So by being nice to women, they believe that women will like them for it This is as conditional as love gets.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/15 08:18 PM
6

Bullshit. That is a very very fringe mind set. Not on Red Pill. I question how objective you are able to be about this. You have never loved unconditionally. You don't have the power to.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/15 08:16 PM
9

How can anyone give you 100% of their attention and doting though? Even in your best years together, she had a life with interests apart from you. Did you ever give her 100% of your attention and doting? No need to defend. It just sounds like you want something that's not humanly possible.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/15 08:15 PM
5

A general mind set of men towards women is that they are "worthless for everything except the warm hole between their legs", as evidenced by /u/EverAwakened, a random male redditor who happened to wander into this sub. If women's mindset is failing the standard of love, is not men's also? And so, isn't then the problem with female love just a disappointment that human love is never unconditional and expecting it to be so is unrealistic?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/15 07:48 PM
10

It's that she won't do these things unconditionally. Isn't that the human condition, though? There are countless examples of men who fail to love women. It is more reasonable to say that unconditional love in not possible for anyone.

/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/15 07:35 PM

So love to you would be when you have 100% of her attention and doting?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/15 07:30 PM
5

do you want examples of the love that failed, or what I was daydreaming of? Both.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/15 07:29 PM
11

Thanks for the reply. A little off topic though. You offer ideas where a woman can make a meal or do things to help her man. But these are real, tangible things done by women. Therefore, they can't qualify as sufficient love to a male since female love can never satisfy a male's love need - according to Red Pill. Are you of the opinion that TRP is wrong about female love?

Trigger Warning This idea will be totally lost on terpers. It's only rape if she screams through the duct tape loud enough to be heard by passersby. They don't care about her fear why that affects her response to being threatened.

AWALT means AWALT unless your bumbling logic train derails and you need to fudge on the "All" part. It's just a temporary elevation, a place to fall from. No one deserves their place on a pedestal. We're all human with flaws. It's only a matter of time before those flaws are known, before your admirer takes his/her blinders off. Mature adults want real connection with another person. Not games. Not a free pass. But an honest relationship with give and take and love, honesty and respect at the core. That's what will make a relationship last and better both individuals.

Society should be made as equal as possible, and that includes men's issues. Your examples of men's issues were pretty trivial considering some of the real burdens placed on men by society. But if you want to just keep it at body acceptance, we can start there. Yes, men should be encouraged to look how they want to look because their bodies are their own. ETA Let's consider a male equivalent of a slut - a virgin a male slut.

I've actually been looking for a sub that supports spouses and those in LTR who like prioritizing loving and supporting their mates. Would this be the appropriate place for that? It's been hard to a find a place on Reddit like that, granted it is male dominated. RPW would have been a potential sub because of their favorable attitude towards supporting their partners, but it has the egregious tie to RP and it also has a lot of incidences where women are clearly disrespect themselves. No interest …

Calling anyone who disagrees with them "outliers" allows them to disregard anything that doesn't fit their narrative. Exactly. It mounds up its fallacies by refusing to allow better ideas in. Browse a bit you'll see the line that TRP is "based on so much data". But they do actually stop to ask the subjects in question? Nooo, never do that. TRP can't move beyond being whiny, infantile vitriol. It has too much hatred towards women to see the dating picture clearly.

husband's attractiveness doesn't matter for their happiness. But it's a requirement to garner her initial attention. None of that latter marital happiness is likely to start without you first being easy on the eyes to her. Asking why that is is like asking why the sky is blue. You like beautiful women. Why is that? It's probably not all that different from why a woman likes a gorgeous man. So she can dial the importance of that down with time, but you don't. A more interesting question for me is…

why do women tend to go for attractive men? Because this: males and females are equally influenced by physical attractiveness when choosing potential mates. There it is. There has to be initial attraction to draw you in, otherwise you don't give the other person a chance to show the rest of what they can bring to the relationship.

TRP teaches that women find a man who can attract women, as evidenced by his partner count, Let's just say it's not the first thing TRP is wrong about.

It's more about shared values to me. A man could have really slutted it up, as RPers say, but if he begins to see sex as something of more than just a partner count, I wouldn't rule him out automatically. But he would have to really prove a change in values and that wouldn't be a small task. If a guy with a low partner count sees sex as just a way to dominate and boost his ego, that would still rule him out to me. My husband and I both have low partner counts, not coincidentally, we have a share…

We usually judge a person's character by the things they did in the past. What makes sexual history so different? It's that the term "slut" is losing its power. Sex experience outside of marriage isn't taboo any longer for either sex. So it just doesn't sting like it used to. If someone were to call me a slut, I'd flash a smile and say, "you don't have proof yet". It's like it now means "woman who enjoys sex" instead of "woman shamed for sex". So I guess that makes me my husband's personal slut.…

If a man looks terrible, dresses poorly, and smells but is very successful, or has a high level of testosterone, he will attract women. As a man can improve his looks, he will get less profit from his look improvement I believe you believe this. I have so much personal experience that disproves it. But I happily agree to disagree. Thanks for the chat.

So accept a standard in proportion to what you're capable of attracting. Fair enough. All this has made me think about men who committed suicide during economic downturns. It really can't be underestimated how much value a man places on his income.

The thing is, even as my physical value drops, my other values rise. That's a comforting thing to tell oneself but not a helpful thing. The reality is that those other things are increasing but at a marginal rate and with time, not enough to make up for the loss of value. (But it's great to think you are great! Just be content with that and refer your thoughts about not needing anyone else to making you happy.) Statistically men's salaries peak in their late 40s. Do we event want to talk about w…

They do think that way. And it's hard to show them the error in that thinking because the woman who rejects him because he is older, balding a bit, and getting crepey skinned probably isn't going to be brutally honest about that with him. They measure themselves by their successes but don't have a good way of evaluating why they experienced their losses. And some of those losses could be wins if they put their looks at a higher priority.

You're just fighting the fact that women care more about passion, and love than and looks. There we go. That's closer to the mark. Not fighting at all. The RP theory is not an absolute. It was fine-tuned for males and is therefore weaker on the female perspective. But no theory is perfect. Attraction is a complex thing for men and women, and looks are a significant part of the equation for both sexes. Men that tell themselves that they they can slack off, get soft, and not care about their appea…

Thanks for pointing that out. And you have to remember that it's not a 40 year old vs. a 70 year old thing. (I think you were using exaggerated numbers to prove the point.) A man who is 40 can still be sexually attractive. But compare him to his 30 year old self, provided he wasn't out of shape before, and the 30 year old is more desirable. And so the 25* year old to the 30 year old. There are some number of women, usually an exaggerated percentage in RP circles, who say they are attracted to ol…

Sure, I'm going to get old and wrinkly and my hair will fall out and my dick wont work. But this is a great definition of the wall. It does exist because that is it. A guy who's wrinkly and doesn't have a working dick has to change his strategy. And yours is here: I'll be happy just fishing, Get out of the game. And there's nothing wrong with that.

True. And RP generally embraces that, though reluctantly.

I have to agree. But #1 and #2 are good advice. Maybe /u/homo_homini_lupus lives in a part of the US where goatees and Harleys are popular? When I think of that image, it conjured up all kinds of declining, crusty-old-man images.
