Much too strong ties to Russia, just like Trump. Regardless of the policies, people like yourself are being manipulated to vote this way so that the same thing that's happening to the US currently can happen to the UK - to the benefit of other countries that want to destabilise the West. You're given a problem, like men's rights, that you can attach to and associate with, which is a completely valid problem that people can relate to. Maybe that does get tackled by that party, but it also comes a…

Not only do you undoubtedly have some time to fit in exercise into your day, it's also not the best way to lose fat. Diet plays a much bigger role, exercise definitely helps, and will help you also be healthy (and not just skinny and unhealthy). It's not about becoming some gymbro anyway. Exercise when you wake up, or before you go to bed, on your lunch break - just do some push ups, planks, whatever.

In my household at least, my parents would do the same as the above, but both parents would buy and wrap presents, both would organise things like going out to do Christmas-y things. Also on the cooking front (asked by /u/ggleblanc2), my Mum did do the majority of the cooking, but it was paid for by my Dad, and he would still help with it too (preparing ingredients, carving meat, setting the table, etc.)

I believe you, but I'd like a source on that CDC if you have it, just to reference if this comes in conversation for me at some point haha

This is basically my thoughts around it. Nevermind the issues that we have as individuals, what about the world itself? Global warming, the threat of the use of nukes being a near daily occurrence, what feels like the impending collapse of modern society on it's way haha

Feminism is focused on women's rights and the challenges that women face, and there are plenty that they definitely still do face, but men's problems are often ignored or left to men to solve. I would say I'm egalitarian because I want and try to do things that get us closer to equality for everybody. Anything less than that is never going to work. This is where I think things have gone wrong personally, and this is why there is combativeness. I'm quite a literal person, so to me, feminism is ab…

Both sides can cherry pick arguments like this though. This kind of mindset a really large part of the problem IMO, like the original commenter said, a lot of MRAs recognise and advocate for equality where it's fair for the benefit of women too; but ultimately, unless we start treating people equally and all recognise the issues that both sides face, we will never have equality. There are huge systemic issues that affect men that are pretty much completely ignored and that have been for a long t…

And this sort of thing is exactly why equality will never be reached, we keep treating people differently, and we keep separating people into groups where things can and can't affect people (supposedly). You're never going to reach equality by being unequal. I had a conversation with someone once about this, and they were saying it's about systemic oppression - not that these issues can't affect white people or men or whoever, but that it's not the same when applied to these different groups, he…

The same thing that the same people want people of different economic classes or different races to be doing; fighting amongst themselves so that we're too busy doing that to bother dealing with what they're doing.

If a person cares about equality for everyone, men and women included, then they are egalitarian, not feminist. If someone describes themselves as a feminist, then they care about women, and others' rights when it benefits women. Egalitarian is the perfect word to describe what we should all be aiming for.

Make it 40% men too, then that seems fair - make it so there has to be some actual equality if you're going to do anything like this. Thing is, this is equal outcome not equal opportunity. Equal outcome will simply not work.

I don't see a situation where this isn't a net positive. There would always be a reason for this to happen, and that's not me saying "the man must have done something awful", there are plenty of reasons. If she's going to the extent of an abortion, and especially without telling you, then either you have no relationship, or you have an extremely bad one, and neither is a great starting point for raising a child. Add to that, child birth is a lot less scary for men than it is for women, I'm sure.…

Google do also tailor their results to individuals, so it might be that if OP has searched a lot about misogyny then they're more likely to see more results for that in related searches.

Which bit did you want a source on? With the bit you quoted, that's not what I was saying; that's what some of the Tweets are saying (e.g. one from the article "That would be a fair comment if lone men were equally vulnerable as lone women. They are not. [...]"). The rest of my comment was actually based on things I've seen quoted in places like this subreddit. I actually saw this pop up somewhere else (not on Reddit), and nearly commented about it again, but decided I'd try to have a look for m…

The reason they're stating here is that they're more likely to be attacked by a man while waiting for their car to be fixed. I guess what they haven't understood is that far more men are attacked than women in situations like this...

This entirely depends on the woman. If I bought my GF something cheap she'd probably be a little confused (because I earn 4x her...) but she'd be fine with it.

As we all know we have two female oriented celebrations coming up soon , one is February 14th which is Valentine's Day and the other March 8th which is International Women's Day , that's apart from Mother's Day , Christmas , New Year's , where women get all the attention and men are just in the sideshow used as wallets. Women have breast cancer awareness month every year , do men get prostate cancer awareness month?? Isn't a man's health a cause of concern too?? Agree with some of this. Valentin…

Their parents, the media, their friends, coworkers, etc. If you’re in a relationship for a decent length of time, questions like “when are you getting married?” and “when are you going to have children?” are really common.

Yeah, just to be clear, I didn’t think that’s what you were saying, I was just putting my view on it out there. I think we’re saying the same thing there with regards to systemic racism.

There definitely is that, but this is partly my point. If we're talking about history, when do we say the past is the past and move on, and who decides that? If we're talking about power, when and who decides when the balance of power has shifted? Another really key one; what context are we talking about too? Women for example have power over men in a few ways that are commonly discussed; getting custody of children, alimony, and having the ability to destroy a man's life by accusing them of sex…

I'm more for this kind of thing honestly. My view on equality as a whole is that we'll never get there if we keep doing unequal things to compensate. Feminism is rife with that sort of thing, so it's something I actively try to avoid falling into myself. The thing that initially got me thinking this way was a conversation I had with a feminist friend of my sisters. We were having a conversation about racism, and the whole "you can't be racist against white people" thing came up, so I said "that'…

So I think there's a key difference here that others are picking up on between: Believing individuals who report crimes, until evidence arises to the contrary (what you've said), and Not making people feel like they're not being believed (which might not always be possible, unfortunately) To elaborate. I don't think people should be believed by default, I also don't think people should be made to feel like they've been believed either, and I also don't think people should be made to think they'r…

Hmm, they may not have actually been taken that far, but it's a good bet that the majority of women will have dealt with cat-calling, inappropriate contact, and other generally creepy behaviour that will then make them fear that something worse is going to happen. I don't think it's really that irrational, which is sad. Don't get me wrong, I don't think that the vast majority of men who are innocent should have to change their behaviour as a result, I just mean I don't think it's all that irrati…

This is why I put simple debunking examples within parantheses(they're not even the most daunting examples. Just the most simple ones) Right, I think I understand why you put debunking now, as in, debunking that these things only happen to women. Is that right? And it did. There are hundreds of women out there recommending a male curfew. Just open twitter or Tumblr. And your jaw might drop. The impact is more important than the intent. And the impact is huge. At least huge enough to keep the ide…

From a strictly egalitarian view, a lot of the things you listed in your second paragraph are still problems (dark alleys, homicide, domestic violence, and some missing ones like rape, harassment, etc.). They're problems for women and men. Don't get me wrong, there are definitely plenty of vocal women who would like people to believe no problems exist for me, but I don't think that doesn't give women at large the right to worry about these kinds of problems too. On the curfew point, if you're ta…

I actually would vastly prefer "Too many men" over just "Men", because I agree, any more men than 0 raping women is too many. That said, there are so many things wrong with this. So many myths. Women have an incredible amount of privilege in modern society, it's in different places to men for sure, but until both sides recognise their privileges and both try to bridge the gap then we're not going to get anywhere. Besides, in countries like the UK for example, aren't women the only victims of rap…

In jobs where it doesn't matter or isn't rare for a certain gender to fulfil a role it's just useless information though. She's advocating for not having these prefixes at all, i.e. not treating females in roles where females are common as more special than males fulfilling the role.

I think her point is that putting male or female in front of a job title where it's not some rare occurrence (i.e. there are a lot of female comedians, journalists, etc.) is stupid. The way I read this, she's advocating for not having these prefixes because they sound dumb and are unnecessary - which I agree with.

It's really frustrating too, if you do say anything back you're either labelled a racist or told that you can't be racist against white people. It's a really poor approach if the aim is to get to equality.

This kind of thing (i.e. the original post, not your comment!) is why I won't label myself as a feminist these days. I think if you're actually for equality, then egalitarian is a much more appropriate term. Nobody should be unfairly treated, discriminated against, oppressed, generalised or stereotyped, etc. but it seems like this kind of mindset (the one in the original post) is becoming more prevalent (or at least more vocal). My own sister told me that you can't be sexist against men, or raci…

Twitter is an absolute cesspool, definitely. I can't stand the place. I've actually heard this in the UK, sadly. I was at my sister's place, and she had a friend over. My sister is a lesbian, and her friend it turns out is a bit of a feminist. Somehow we got onto the topic of racism, and this feminist friend said something about "white people" (while all of us in the room are white people ourselves, this just screams superiority complex to me). I called her out on that, and somehow she ended up …

I've "won over my female" already - I work out to stay healthy and strong. Actually being physically stronger and more healthy in general (i.e. not having a beer gut, etc.) means the number of years of my life where I have a higher quality of living will be greater - I don't think I'm alone in this view either.

It's uncomfortable for me to sit with my legs completely closed, and can't stand them being crossed over each other - but I see other guys doing that not having a problem. This made me curious, as I'd always believed this. Turns out there seems to be at the very least some evidence to support the claim that your immune system is less effective in colder conditions: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4311828/ That's just one thing I could find very quickly supporting it, there may be a ton of stuff supporting it having no impact too to be honest.
