Highly recommend software development. Next on the tier list is a trade like electrician, carpenter, plumber, etc. You can find courses for programming a Google search away. Trade school is pricier but if you learn personal finance and manage your money you can do it. It'll be hard but fulfilling.

I was quite happy with my college. I went into STEM (graduated in 2011), commuted from home, graduated in an accelerated engineering program with a BS/MS. The professors and TA's don't give a fuck about you... exactly as they should. You're a fucking adult- pass or fail on your own merits. I sacrificed my social life and was MGTOW before the movement really picked up, so no women fucking me up. I don't know, but it seems like your expectations were improperly calibrated.
