| 1 | Mainstream deeming men with limited earning prospects "ineligible for marriage" or "unmarriageable" demonstrates that women seek to cast aside their own traditional gender roles while continuing to impose them on men. "Unilateral imprisonment".You are arguing that the only explanation is that men are afraid of women who make more than them. Do you have any data to suggest that this is the case? Any studies that show men are afraid of being financially subjugated? Or is it all just conjecture based on reasoning from the behavior of people during the industrial revolution? My point is that it is not a foregone conclusion. It is not the only possible explanation. Do a quick google search of what men look for in a wife. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 04/08/20 04:36 AM |

"Unilateral imprisonment".I dont agree that that is an obvious conclusion. It's easy to think of multiple alternate explanations. For example: Societies in which women are given equal property rights are, on the whole, far more prosperous than societies that do not. Is it not equally possible that these fortune hunters disappear because fortune is easier to obtain on one's one merit? Whereas in the societies you are referencing, even escaping poverty into the middle-class was nearly impossible. Perhaps once you no longer… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 04/08/20 04:21 AM |

"Unilateral imprisonment".I'm not really seeing your point here. None of that information is an indictment that men are afraid of being "financially subordinated". | /r/PurplePillDebate | 04/08/20 03:52 AM |
| 1 | OLD would be a lot easier for young men, if older men would stay in their lane....First, why should men who are able to attract younger women and who have a preference for younger women have to "stay in their lane"? We are talking about consenting adults, both parties should be able to choose who they would like to date. Second, you speak as though women have no agency. As though they are trophies to be won and older men are hoarding them all for themselves. People should just date who they want within legal limits, obviously. Leave them to it. The fact that you feel the need… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 04/08/20 03:39 AM |

"Unilateral imprisonment".I think you're missing something significant here. It's not that men actively avoid high earning women, it's that men generally do not care about how much a potential romantic partner earns. It has nothing to do with societal expectations. I would argue that it's really not the case that men are avoiding being "subordinated" financially. Men are far more concerned with beauty and personality than the financial stability a woman might bring to the table. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 04/08/20 03:30 AM |
