Make assumptions, like "Oh I can tell you're from (such and such)", they ask "why?" and you say something like "Oh your style/accent/random shit". It gets the convo flowing SO much better than "Where are you from?". Another example: "You seem like a dog person", to which she'd say "What makes you say that?" and you can say something like "Very outgoing and fun"Much more fun than "Do you like dogs?" Make it fun and loose, both of these I've used in conversations. Make positive assumptions.

I go to a school with those ratio's and let me tell ya, it's not 4:1 girls to guys here, it's 1:1. We have the beluga whales, the "astrology witchcraft" girls, then the girls with boyfriends. Majority of the women here I wouldn't touch with a 6 foot pole.
