I've been reading a lot on Stoicism lately. Interesting parallels, considering when Marcus Aurelius wrote "Meditations" the Roman Empire was already in decline.

Sorry, relatively new here. Why is this frowned upon?

Dude in the back row didn't get the memo on "manspreading" lol

The difference is, Grandma would have been publicly humiliated and considered a pariah by the whole community. Socially shunned. And any man stupid enough to fuck around with another mans wife would have been taken out back by the husband and a few buddies, and dealt with. Now the best we can muster is, "be a man", "cut contact with her", "you're better off without her". We've normalized cheating since the 1960's as well

Maybe I will. If there is any hope at all, it would likely require every man we can find to participate. I hope if some momentum were to take shape, that you MGTOW brothers would shake off some apathy and join. You guys are certainly capable of strong conviction.

Hadn't heard of that book. Reviews look really interesting. Just added to my Amazon list, thanks

Millions of men before us died protecting their civilization, because they believed it was a meaning worthy of dying for. So, what is meaning to you?

If we are in collapse, I agree it's likely a long process. I'm not sure we've reached the tipping point as you say though. I mean, we're seeing major pushback in Europe and the US right now. It's also worth noting that Europe is a bit ahead of us, maybe by a decade or more, and we may be able to learn something from the problems there while we still have a chance to change direction.

Good idea, fatten up for the inevitable food shortages when the coming socialist state collapses

"Divorce rape" wasn't a thing before the 1970's

I think a civil war is a legitimate possibility, probably far off. But I doubt much interference, considering we've still got the largest military in the world by a long shot, as well as a shit ton of nukes.

"Always"? Maybe in your lifetime, but what about the time before second wave feminism? I assure you, any slavery you feel in the West doesn't compare an iota to the slavery you'll feel working for the socialist state that threatens to replace it.

Men are disposable, that's been true throughout history. A woman has inherent value due to her ability to give birth, whereas a man must prove his value to the tribe through action. The reason the "protect" instinct even developed is due to this fact. A tribe that doesn't protect it's women isn't a tribe for long. You're absolutely right, women have created this problem with feminism, sexual liberation, etc, but weak men allowed it to happen. I question if these later developments weren't inevit…

Thank you. This is literally the only solutions based response I've seen. Every other comment so far has lead me to believe MGTOW is just a support group for the pathologically passive aggressive.

Does the MGTOW community believe that "what they intend your life to be like" was a bad thing when we had a legitimate patriarchy in The West, and monogamy that was actually enforced by the culture?

Jamaica is an actual Matriarchal society. Not surprising.

Damn, I hate to admit it, but that may be the sad truth. When you don't know your history, you're destined to repeat it. This may have been lost as long ago as Women's Suffrage, 1920. If Unwin's theories about the "expansive energy" of cultures with strict monogamy is correct, then we should probably buy our Korans and prepare for the invasion.

They did, they fought and died for it. That's exactly why I have reservations about letting it go with a whimper. Is that how we want our generation to be remembered in history? Don't get me wrong, I think the Boomers (my parents generation) are to blame for the trajectory we're on now, but does it have to be terminal?

Was "The Patriarchy" we're allowing to be dismantled "The Plantation"? What happens if it collapses entirely? We all become hunter gatherers again, and 80% of women reproduce while only 40% of men do? That's what the human genome tells us

I don't think society "hates" us. I do think society has been overwhelmed by a destructive ideology. If Western Civilization is collapsing, then we're living in an incredibly momentous moment in history, and I'm wondering what small role I want to play in that history. MGTOW appeals to me in a lot of ways, because the obstacles are enormous and men are really poorly organized socially. But what is the end result? And are we just passive aggressively allowing our culture to disappear?

Let's not divide ourselves, we're stronger together. This is the same identity politics nonsense that is (hopefully) slowly tearing the feminist movement to pieces.

That's encouraging. I wish there was some way to save Western Culture, but it seems a massively uphill battle, and the coordination it would require from men seems impossible.

Men have to be conditioned to society. Without it, we're naturally more anti-social and aggressive. Society conditions men to channel that aggression into productive, civilization building pursuits (careers), and the reward is a loyal wife and a family, where every man is "king of his castle" and has a future generation for whom to build and pass on his legacy. This is the basic social contract of society. The problem is, the social contract (monogamy) is breaking down due to feminism, women's i…

Bullshit. The marriage rate is lower now than at any time in recorded history in the US. Lower than during the Great Depression. The divorce rate, although it peaked around 1980 has only declined as a function of the marriage rate declining. So, the gap between the marriage and divorce rate is at it's narrowest in recorded history in the US. The out of wedlock childbirth rate, steady at around 5% for decades before, has gone up astronomically since 1960 and now stands at over 40%. No fault divor…
