Later on Reddit: “That bitch was probably mad because she had to pay for her own food. They’re all gold diggers!”

You can spell it out if you choose, it just makes some people really uncomfortable to say or read the words “child porn.”

And we all know this type from the friend’s side. She’s nice to him because you have to be (for work and social conditioning) and he acts decent with her! So she decides “okay, he’s not so bad, we can be friends even though he’s way older.” And then the dude pulls some nasty old man shit like copping a feel or trying to cheat on his wife and she will be reminded, “oh, that’s right, my mistake for thinking I’m anything other than a piece of meat.” Then he blames her for ruining his life because h…

Absolutely. If someone put a cigarette out on my arm today and said they loved me, at least one of us is getting arrested. If someone had put a cigarette out on my arm 10 years ago and said they loved me, when I was recovering from sexual and emotional abuse, I would have been excited someone loved me.

My 22 year old cousin married a 34 year old man with a 9 year old son and now posts on Instagram about how “incredible it is to be a mother.” Barf. She cut contact with her own mother because mom said she’s worried this man was using her for free sex and baby sitting.

I think you’re both totally right. You can have a relationship (with all of those nice things included) that doesn’t leave you feeling lonely at the end of the night, even if it’s not perfect. You can also have all of those nice things and still feel devastatingly lonely and isolated if the emotions aren’t right. Some people would say that’s not worth it. You can also be alone and not lonely; whether you feel lonely is totally independent of whether you’re actually alone.

Yeah I meant it more like “I’m confident because I have skills now.” I’m not recommending it for confidence, I’m recommending getting skills and you will still likely feel differently (more confident) yourself. I also have a gun. Not trying to start some weird argument here, but trying to explain the difference. It looks like you changed your comment though, I’m glad you’re taking classes!

I thought this too as I’m a very confident person who stands up for myself verbally. However, after getting some self defense training I really do feel and look different. It’s a different kind of confidence I would recommend, even to women who already feel comfortable speaking out.

I totally agree. The dog is clearly not getting what it needs and seems to have bad anxiety when things change - that’s bad training and socializing. No animal should be subjected to smelling like urine or feces all the time. No girlfriend, either.

Women-only compounds/co-ops are the answer!! Lol, I always joke about this and then get really serious about wanting one.

I’m saving this post and your comment for the next time I feel lonely/sad and question whether I need to be with a man. Thanks for sharing your insight and reminding us that we have everything we need!!

I work in a women’s domestic violence/sexual assault shelter. We do help men who are victims of DVSA crimes… by getting them a hotel room and then providing all the same resources from there. We work in the capitol city of our state and still only run into a handful of men each year who truly have nowhere safe to go. Meanwhile we provide hundreds of thousands of bed night per year to women. Bringing men into a shelter full of victimized women who have been abused, raped, assaulted, stalked, and …

That’s horrifying. Aside from violence against women, that kind of thing is peak male depravity 🤮

To add to this, even pregnancy and motherhood has been fetishized. I looked up some pregnancy subredddits and pregnancy porn was the first thing that came up, it’s disgusting. Within the actual subs for pregnant women, men are also still all over the place commenting and inserting their opinions.

Wow, seriously great point. Men think they're adequate just because they DON'T murder a woman and then feel comfortable making zero changes in their misogynistic behaviors.

I went to a domestic violence training by Bancroft for work! It was phenomenal. He also stressed that one of the most important factors in recidivism in new perpetrators of family violence is male first responders' reactions to the violence. In plain speak, men are less likely to abuse women repeatedly if the male cops and EMTs who show up talk about what a stupid or selfish act it is. We say "men listen to men."

I was that girl. I felt super uncomfortable with the way my boyfriend talked about, constantly texted, and hung out with a female friend. Whenever I mentioned it he got upset and said he's allowed to have friends and I just have to work through my "insecurity." Months later I found out he did physically cheat on me, and in all his "Please don't leave me" bullshit he admitted he had been emotionally cheating on me for a very long time. He said he just felt "SoOo CoNnEcTeD" to her. He straight up …
