That person knew about the patriarchy and everything and could speak intelligently about feminism, but ultimately was still motivated by a lot of sexist ideas. This whole “macho tokens theory” thing falls under what we would call toxic masculinity and feminists don’t agree with this at all. Thinking that women pursue degrees and careers in order to attract men is kind of saying that the only purpose in women’s lives is to please a man and have his children, which is a highly sexist idea.
