To be fair, minor league baseball games in most of the US are still quite affordable for families of even modest means. I’ve been to both major and minor league games over the years and TBH I tend to prefer the laid back and approachable vibe of minor league baseball anyways.

Sure he can. Takes no more or less effort than you asking for sources for pointless stuff that can be easily googled. We’ve had data for 20+ years on the pros and cons of step parenting, including data on rates of marriage failure, abuse, etc. Stop being an obtuse and lazy PoS asking for everything to be spoonfed to you.

White privilige is a real issue in most parts of the world and denying that is stupid. Tell me you haven’t really seen the world without telling me you haven’t really seen the world. 🙄 You can be disadavantaged for being male while also adavataged for being white. You can also be, and in the USA often are, systematically disadvantaged for being both. Mostly you’re just spouting early 2020’s era lefty Twitter talking points and pretending it is a virtue to shit on white people. Which is not only …

Did you read the meta study? Or just zero in on the red herring that you felt best confirmed your existing biases? Also affirmative action policies have pretty well known secondary effects of generating just the kind of bias you found. IE nobody thinks DEI/quota hires “earned it” as much as demographics that weren’t given an administrative leg up. But the Left never wants to deal with that. Nor does it ever want to address actual deficiencies in performance, dropout rates, or any other negative …

How do you measure it? I don’t. I google or use AI to look up one of the many, many, many studies on this subject and then skim down to their methods and results. We don’t need to reinvent the wheel just because you want to make a point not well supported by data. 🤷🏻‍♂️ if both biases make it impossible to talk about anything, then what difference does it make that someone's bias is stronger? I don’t grant your premise. It’s totally possible to talk about things. The data indicates what most of …

Men have in group bias. It’s just considerably weaker than women’s in group bias and basically all other demographic in group bias (race, age, etc). Women’s in group bias measures 4-5x stronger, for example. But sure, male in-group bias is not zero. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I don’t know how many women I’ve heard say they prefer female doctors over the years. It is 100% okay for men to prefer same sex medical practitioners as well.

Women today vote because these organizations have been successful at getting out the vote. NOW and the like work hand in hand with policy makers to identify wedge issues and get their base out. I get that you want to be all “power to the people” here, but if you want real and sustained political power you gotta quit the DIY bullshit and bring in the pros.

The answer you’re looking for here is “lobbyists”. The political and media power of feminism is formally organized and deployed by a variety of long standing and well funded lobbyists who are paid to go out and push for their bullshit 24/7. No grassroots movement is ever going to come close to that kind of sustained, funded, and organized effort. Organized feminism has been around 100+ years. It’s multi-generational. Businesses pay their lobbies. Idiots leave them money in their wills. Etc. Unti…

I think a lot of people continue to see themselves as 90's or early 2000's liberals. But the Democratic party left those people behind a long time ago, and people are just waking up to that at different speeds.

There is no discussion at all to miserable feminist politics and policies that have pushed many young men to the corner. MeToo hysteria, with many cases that saw no legal outcome, etc.. Yeah. Because he can’t go there, and he knows it. Galloway is a lefty academic salesman based out of NYC. He’s not going to bite the hand that feeds. Also who do you think is buying this book? Put kindly: Neither his audience nor his customers are young men. AFAICT he just repackaged and rehashed the only message…

Prof Galloway and Richard Reeves are both imperfect advocates to be sure. IIRC both come from the left, and that clearly colors their criticism and thoughts on acceptable solutions. But the left paying any attention at all to the issues men face can be considered some form of progress. The real problem is men still see women as companions and not as the competitors they really are. Women compete with men for everything in society but also expect men to help them like we used to do. Hard agree! N…

He keeps saying that we live in a society where men have 0% authority and 100% responsibility but he never explains what it means. I don’t particularly like Rollo (who the fuck wants to talk about this stuff as much as he does?), but the evidence you provided doesn’t support your assertion that he says there is a hard binary on responsibility/authority. Certainly not 100%/0%. Hard not to see that as a straw man. International studies have shown that society still expects “men to be men”. https:/…

Memo went out recently from a Democratic think tank telling them to cut the shit with the overuse of medical/therapy language and the intersectional victimhood schtick. I'm not confident they'll listen, since it pairs really well with classical Marxist programming, but if they do we may see a change in rhetoric.

It's a crap app that was a response to Facebook actually responding to years long complaints and news stories about similar groups on their platform. Anecdotally, I’m the clean one in our relationship. Since it doesn’t come up often, I never realized this was true for all of the couples in our friends group. The male is always driving demand for a cleaner, more organized/functional house, and is often doing 50% or more of the work. These are elder Millenial and Gen Z couples. The Left’s purity spiral pushed A LOT of centrists away over the last 5+ years or so. For every high profile one like JP, Joe Rogan, Anna Kasparian, etc, there are magnitudes more who were happy to stay at home or vote for the right in recent elections. Purity spirals are ultimately toxic and self defeating. They should be avoided.

Duh? Of course they should. Ridiculous that we spend > $10k per birth in a hospital, running all kinds of tests, but balk at adding an extra $100 or so for a test to assure fathers of paternity.

How true is that though and how much of it was simply women not being allowed to do the same work? Kind of a dead horse to beat, isn’t it? Women are physically weaker and in an agrarian, pre-industrial world that meant a lot less economically viable for 98%+ of the population. Lack of birth control and anything approaching modern medical care compounded the issue.

The common sentiment I get when asking for advocacy is ‘Why should I care about your issues, you don’t care about mine’. Women benefit from a number of biases baked into almost every culture. On top of that significant built in advantage, 100+ years of feminism in the West and about 50+ years of feminist/“progressive” overreach on gender issues has created 2-3 generations of Western men who have been systematically marginalized and attacked their entire lives, both in public and at home. It’s not domestic violence. It’s fraud. It should be investigated and punished as such, and laws and the culture should rally to prevent/protect men from paternity fraud and provide efficient and practical remedies for the victims. Will any of that happen? Probably not for a generation or two.

That generation is mostly gone, and they aren’t the idiots parroting this stupid line about the 1950s anyways. Earning money = power as long as you control how said money is spent. The problem in the US and some other countries (India, Japan, much of SEA, etc) is a domestic pattern where men “provide” for their families by handing over money to their wives, mothers, etc. In this model men become workhorses and paypigs for women to exploit. Worse, they’re conditioned to compete for the privilege. Women control 80% of discretionary household spending. Businesses have known this for decades now. Women are t…

even in Israel women are rarely in combat positions Okay. How is that not a pointless red herring? Have you served? Worldwide, most military roles are not "combat positions". The ratios vary, depending on how much is outsourced to contractors and the like, but in general you see a 5:1 to 10:1 ratio between "support/logistic/whatever personnel" and "front line combat troops" in any military organization. Women make pretty shitty front line combat troops, and that's not exactly new news. They can …

IIRC Israel’s mandatory military service includes women. One of the relatively few countries, worldwide to do so, including all the feminist utopias in the West. Funny how that works. But Israel doesn’t have the luxury of fucking around on this. Their population is too small, and there are too many legitimate threats to their country. Ukraine is way past “fuck around and find out” territory. They need to get real on this.

Jesus, you understand the articles you're seeing in Cosmo or whatever are also specifically aimed at reinforcing your biases? Audience capture and the like? Get a clue. Blank slate equalism? Go read Steven Pinker. Or just, you know, use your mind for something more than arguments that sound good but are ultimately stupid and easy to debunk? Do women hold men to standards different than they hold women? Yes? Is it possible those standards are biologically driven? Okay then. Your argument is stupid. Thanks for playing.

Because she sounds difficult and useless? This kind of attitude is a red flag typical of the kind of reflexive indoctrinated and unexamined feminism most people in the US have been brought up with. It creates toxic, childlike, and often useless women who will be terrible partners, mothers, and a net drain on their families. This is why conservative men tend to avoid the kind of idiot lefty women that love posting poorly thought out babble in /r/purplepilldebate.

In fact, once I shifted more towards dating with an eye on marriage (vs just hookups), by and large women wanted to move to the bedroom faster than I did. I was surprised at how fast, sometimes! Makes sense. Men compete much more openly and aggressively than women. So men reacting aggressively to new players isn’t weird to me. “Welcome to Thunderdome”. Men also do this to men, the whole FNG dynamic, etc. New men are expected to prove their worth and earn respect. Now throw in a gender mix, and men responding aggressively to new perceived competitors isn’t weird. Neither are men at the top of the hierarchy welcome mating prospects and non-threatening new players. It’s all upside for them…

actress: They get basically paid to lie and to pretend to be someone they are not. Also they often shoot romance and sex scenes and I’m not thrilled about that. It’s worse than this, really. Even if they are not actresses per se, the actress “type” comes with some real baggage. I dated some drama kids in high school, and then a Disney “face character” later in life. BBC covered it here - https://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-38796457 But when a body called the Delhi Commission for Women published a report in 2014 describing 53% of rapes reported in the city the previous year as "false" this was seized upon by men's rights activists as evidence that the legal changes and noisy public debate had ended up making victims out of men. So yes, some men can get out of child support even if married to the mother. And the solution to the problem in the other states is to enable men to rebut paternity and get out of child support. Because as it is now, mandatory maternity testing wouldnt help any of those men at all, because even if all false fathers had automatic evidence their children weren’t theirs, they’d still be on the hook for child support. Some men can get out of child support with DNS results showing the child isn't the…

Except the courts don’t care about tests after paternity has been established, which happens pretty much right away. Cucked fathers have fought for years and lost based on paternity tests. So the only way to legally protect men is to give them as much info as possible, at or before birth, before they sign or consent to anything. And it’s fucking cheap. $25-50 test, which is chump change on top of the $10k+ hospital bill you’re going to get for even a short stay in the maternity ward. Just throw …

As you note below, there are differences between the relationship and legal issues. Notably, it does not matter if a father gets a paternity test in many states if he has already a) signed a birth certificate or b) socially/financially assumed paternity. Both of which pretty much happen at the hospital, and come with legal ramifications. So the ability to get a test is nice. But if you don’t make it mandatory and give fathers timely info and realistic options before they “commit” to the child, t…

False equivalencies are a logical fallacy for a reason. I know Venn diagrams are hard, but just because two things overlap in some or many traits does not make them equal or the same thing. Also: See A. correct me if I'm wrong) I'm pretty sure that the majority of the world is white. You are super fucking wrong. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_the_world

It's okay to be different. I dunno why do many modern women/feminists pretend like we aren't. Because that would mean admitting they are, as a group, physically weaker. Which opens up a whole hard-fought can of worms re: suppressing women’s rights “for their own good/protection/safety”, keeping women out of certain job fields, etc. My guess is that it’s just not worth the tradeoff to them. Plus many White Knights will jump in to defend a woman (regardless of circumstance) and at their own person…

Nursing is, by any objective definition, a female-dominated field.

Apologies, but nursing and teaching aren't female dominated vocations anymore.. Dying to see your source on this.

Is there motive? Because means and opportunity are there. If women continue to, for example, receive coaching and encouragement to file false claims to help out in divorce and custody proceedings, you are going to see an uptick in false claims. How do we combat that? I don’t know. Obviously investigating and prosecuting such claims are difficult. A lot of them boil down to “he said, she said”, which is every cops least favorite scenario in a domestic. You don’t want to let a predator go free, an…

It's fucking college. Of course that happens. Agreed. And I can't count how many girls tried to chat me up while I was studying. I was engaged. What did I do? Respond politely and keep fucking studying. All this does is further the victim mentality women have and discriminate unfairly against men. "Well...at least they won't be hit on!" Right. Definitely weren't any lesbians when I was in college either. eyeroll So this policy fails on that count too. MAYBE treating women as equal means they occ…

Nope. Two people had sex. But only one person chooses to conceive and carry to term. Women control reproduction.

He could have easily worn a condom or have made sure the boning would be without consequence. She could have easily used birth control, depo provera, a diaphragm, or the morning after pill. Failing that, she could have gone for an abortion. Women control reproduction. Not men.

Good sentiment, man, but it's a bit long and wordy for a poster. Posters are something you scan while walking by in the hall or maybe skim while waiting in a break room or something. I think there's room to condense here. "Omit needless words".

I think you just made that up on the fly and didn't even stop for a second to critically examine it as an indicator. shrug If you mean I didn't properly convey what I was thinking to an overly critical and anal-retentive crowd, then you are correct. There's a difference between sales/marketing to convey an idea or bring in new converts, and "oh baby, please don't leave me! You need me!", which is a mark of desperation. This comes across as the latter, not the former.

Lots of $500 blender salesmen have to explain to me why I need a $500 blender. Doesn't mean I actually need a $500 blender. I'm just saying...once I heard about MRA, I realized I'd been looking for it for 10 years. I just didn't know it had a name.

Probably better to screenshot the source, next time. I'm hesitant to link this to anybody if I also have to send instructions on how they can generate it themselves. They won't do that, and without a source few people will take these graphics seriously. A link to a pic of the output with "Bureau of Labor Statistics" above is more convincing and accessible.

Russel Brand? I think you may have him confused with some of his film roles. From what I understand, he's considerably less successful/well off than she is, and about 9 years older. I'd wager both were factors in their split.

I though he was better than this, abusing the system. Maybe if it was to prove a point, but I expected Russell Brand to be less of a leech. Few people are "too good" to hold their nose and do something reprehensible if enough money is on the line. With something as germane as pressing for a divorce settlement, I doubt Brand or anyone else on here would really bat an eye if $20m was on the line. I'd do it every day of the week, and twice on Sunday. And that's the problem. People really shouldn't …

Good for one parent, bad for the kid and the other parent. The choice occurred at intercourse. I care far less for parents than for children. Differentiated responsibility. Women have much more access and control over contraception than men. This is especially true in LTR and marriages, where both partners often agree to forgo condoms (the only viable, verifiable, highly effective contraceptive option men have) and rely exclusively on female birth control. The woman is the only one who has any s…

Dating is a free market. They're just asking for what the market tells them they are worth (as indicated by what they get). The double standard exists because we (men) place far more value in looks then career success and independence. An entire world of this. Most men are pretty flexible about who they date. But people who can afford to be selective are more attractive. Think about it. How attracted are you to somebody you know/suspect will take just about anybody? Years ago, I wrote an ad on C…

Then again, if a woman sleeps around she's a slut, but a man is a stud. Actually I think the guy is dirty and probably has self-esteem issues. <-- A guy. I am flatly unimpressed by "studly" guys. Hooking up with random people is easy. Sex itself is only slightly harder than falling down. And considering the risk level these days, I see random promiscuity as a losing bet.

When I read this response though, it made me sick. I pray this isn't a common mindset. A PhD candidate friend of mine loves to quote a statistic saying that people hate to lose 2x more than they like to win. The problem isn't that people are fucked up. We know that already. We're just not giving men and women a level playing field to be fucked up in. Family and divorce court is hopelessly skewed in favor of women.

We're going in circles. You have no point. You can repost all day long about how you perceive a difference in the cost of healthcare vs the cost of liability insurance. But it won't make it so. A cost is a cost. I guess talking me to death is your fallback tactic? Oh, and downvoting everyone who disagrees with you. Both me, and others in this thread. That's classy, bro. /unsubscribed.

I understand your argument. Its irrelevant. Get past the "revelation" that insurance is different from healthcare. An expense is an expense. Money is fucking money. The cost to insure "liability" is just a projection of expense spread out over a population and broken down by demographics according to statistical projection. Its really no different from any other kind of cost. Likewise, the costs associated with healthcare are fairly easy to project and break down by age, sex, and even location. …

Health insurance is not a form of liability insurance. Car insurance is. But costs are costs. Your point is irrelevant. Men are more likely to be in an accident, thus making it more expensive to insure men. Women are more likely to use the doctor or to get ill. Making it more expensive to insure women. So if it costs more to "insure" (read: provide healthcare) for a woman, why not charge her more? Hint: The answer is "double standard".

There was a study that found that men who are more likely to hold doors for women, step aside to let them pass in a hallway, etc. are more likely to be sexist than men that don't. Source? I'm very curious how you quantify something like "sexist".
