Oh no, we don't see each other like that. Don't believe that shit without confirming it. I once got Facebook added by the male friend of a girl I was seeing. She was alarmed when I told her the guy added me, and then she told me he's gay or bi and is probably just creeping on me. Six months later she was writing him love letters, so much for him being gay!

Agreed. I'm such a believer in it that I found you a 24-page PDF of it from the University of Hawaii: link. It begins about 2/3 of the way down on page 1. Enjoy :)

Anger is a natural response to betrayal, and there's nothing wrong with feeling angry in that situation- many of us have been there and know how epicly it sucks. However, AWALT theory should (hopefully) kick in and help take some of the sting out of it. Cynicism (the modern cynicism, not Greek cynicism) is a comfort in these situations. I typically agree with AWALT theory up until the point where it basically shifts cheating blame from the woman to the man; he probably had a hand in it, but I am…

Not only was it a gift, but it was a favor. Bitch showed her colors before you got further entrenched with her. My feeling is that if I ever meet the guy a woman cheats on me with, I should shake his hand and thank him for exposing her for what she is.

My ex-wife was prescribed a T cream. As with all of her regulatory meds, she went off them, and asked me if I wanted the cream. I said hell yes. The dose was minimal compared to what floats around in a man's blood at any time (female TRT is a much lower dose than male TRT), but I took several days' worth at once for more effect... and instead of applying it to the thighs/arms as prescribed, I put it on my nuts because I know that scrotal absorption is the best in the body. The next 24 hours invo…

My wife has pepper spray so she can be safe. Know where she keeps it? In the house, where she can't access it while walking to her car after work. My point: good luck getting these women to be concerned with their own safety. The guns recommended they carry would probably end up in a glove box (potentially a legal problem) or under the bed, instead of somewhere accessible. An inaccessible form of defense is wasted money.

Also depends on the power of the saw. A high-powered gas saw is much safer than something low powered, or electric. Kickback is when the chain gets hung up so then the motor forces the handle portion to start jumping. A powerful saw doesn't get hung up so easily. I will have a BSIT in 3 months. I am taking the exam for the electrical union next month because I know it's a better way of life. In my case (IT) it's essentially impossible to be self-employed unless you're a top-tier expert who can be a consultant. Otherwise, you have to work for someone else. Plumber? Electrician? Once you have a journeyman's license you can work for yourself, regardless of your Union status. Then nobody can fire you, and you decide how your customers get treated. If (like m…

People here touch upon the wisdom of eastern/buddhist philosophies often, but not so often the wisdom contained in the Abrahamic religions. They ignore the OT/NT because support of Judeo-Christian religions is an invitation for downvotes on reddit. There is tremendous wisdom in the Old and New Testaments, but too many people are hung up on their gripes with the faith to extract the wisdom from therein; literally, not seeing the forest through the trees. Anyway... Gluttony, if we abandon the medi…

I don't see a problem with this. She's not doing anything much different than when men set up a macro to click on every woman's "Meet Me Now" (or similar) button, and then going through what the net caught. I've even seen advice posted for men to post fake female profiles to see what kind of sludge they receive in their inboxes- and as a result, I don't message women with only one photo.

Realize that by reducing dependence, you are increasing independence. Willpower is like a muscle- it must be worked to be effective. By conquering things without alcohol, you are making that willpower muscle grow. A large willpower muscle will be able to handle larger tasks/challenges.

Robb was a fool, he rationalized his lust. He made a terrible decision. Lords and Kings always have women on the side. Comes with the territory. As far as he knows, his virtuous father had one and produced Jon Snow.

A very wise man by the name of Frank Kermit knows everything about relationship management. One of his rules for keeping a woman attracted is not letting her "engage" her maternal instincts with you, because a woman is incapable of being attracted to her child. Basically when you need a woman to make your choices, you are behaving like her child and not her lover. Attraction goes down.

You don't have to play along with her games, and OP was right to leave, but online dating is the last place to look for honesty in others. EDIT: Pointing out the propensity of people to lie on their online dating profiles earned me downvotes from four people who still believe in unicorns, lol.

Part of the acceptance phase of TRP/AWALT is that online dating is going to result in these sorts of situations. X% of Tinder dates will have this happen, so rather than get get mad, OP should just accept the numbers. Putting women in their place is an impossible task. A bit of Gandhi applies: be the change you want to see in the world. You can't change others. That girl needs to hit rock bottom and realize her goods are stale. That realization won't come from one guy being rude to her. If anyth…

As I often say in r/stoicism, we must be wise in our application of these ideas. Don't simply accept everything- figure out what you can change and focus your energies there. OP's FF training is a case where something can't be changed (training regimen is set in stone) so his acceptance of the suck is correct... but invariably some people end up using concepts like "embrace the suck" as an excuse to avoid personal growth, as in your bad marriage example.

I would agree, because non-pussified pledging is one of the last remaining male spaces around. Young men need these times for their development. Male development doesn't always have to involve shaved heads, drill instructors, and combat. There are many roads to Rome.

I support regulated, non-trafficked, prostitution. Prostitutes love the unloveable. The cripples, the burn victims, the fugly. They love those who are simply too busy for a relationship. They love those who are perhaps not the relationship type. All these types pay the prostitute to satisfy their primal need. After the deed is done, they go about their day. Report by John Stossel where the girls are clearly happy, some are educated, and others are probably escaping a life of working retail for m…

Absolvement of agency is a a common method for preserving one's ego. If you can pin your failings on an external villain it takes away the need to be personally responsible. Oh, I see you've met my ex-wife. Ha!

My first marriage failed because I didn't have boundaries. My second marriage failed because I had boundaries (lesson learned from marriage #1) but I did not enforce them. An unenforced boundary is a line on a map, nothing more. There won't be a third.

Lots of guys want one, but not every guy realizes how much time and money needs to go into them to keep everything working smoothly. So true. Buddy of mine got a Porsche, and the services (read: oil changes) were $900. Same thing happens with top women. What happens when Bey or J.Lo cracks the whip? You better have some serious game to hold frame in that environment. Me, give me a Kia with a good warranty and I'm happy.

For most men, the only woman who will love you unconditionally is your mother. Other women? You better be groomed a certain way, smell a certain way, be employed, have a car, have a degree, like cats, let her go grind on random guys at the club, be okay with them having banged 50 dudes on the carousel before she settled for you, etc.

Yep. I say this all the time and nobody listens. Falling in love is a dopamine/oxytocin rush. It's a neurochemical high, nothing more. Heartbreak is withdrawal, a come down. The trick to avoiding withdrawal from a substance is to avoid getting high in the first place.

The crazy thing is he was a super positive person, and honestly (no homo) he was a good-looking guy, awesome personality. He could naturally pull women, super smart, eloquent, etc. A gentleman, even. His fiancee is as good looking as my best pull ever. He had abundance, but I guess he didn't know it? When drowning at sea, if you are submerged past a certain point (think of escaping a sinking ship) when you are in the water, the external pressure is high enough that it screws up your sense of up/down. At this point you swim, hoping you're going up, but truthfully you have no way of knowing, and many people are simply swimming sideways or down. But he killed himself. My cousin killed himself when, in his last semester of college, he wanted to drop out. His fiancee said if he quits school they should end the engagement. This "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation sparked a fatal chain of events that resulted in suicide. My cousin made the choice to kill himself. However, this doesn't exempt her from some amount of culpability, because when that last straw breaks a camel's back, someone put it there. She might not have intende…
