Unfortunately it is more than sometimes! I'm sorry to say but most people are extremely vapid. The most recent example I can think of is when I tried talking to a few of my colleagues about some of the concepts that were in the forefront of my mind while I was reading Marcus Aurelias's Meditations, specifically parsimony. I received nothing blank stares and then the conversation swung back to Orange man bad and Netflix. :|
