The writer seems to be confusing voluntarily surrendering parental rights with what is commonly referred to as a restraining order, and not understanding that the proposed option is before the child is born. Financial abortion is the option for a man to voluntarily surrender parental rights and responsibilities before a child is born. In that scenario, the father has no legal relationship to the kid, nor does anyone in his family.

What's very important to realize in this area is that TRP's goals and views are directly contradictory to ours. TRP says men should act a certain, the way they prescribe as "alpha" or "real men". They say men should show weakness, should always be controlling etc. We say men should act however they want. We say it's okay to be sad, show weakness. etc. That's a HUGE difference.

Part of the issue here is that people can be dumb. Really fucking dumb. It's not realistic to prevent people from getting each other pregnant unintentional. So, since most of us don't see an embryo as a human being(I certainly don't, no more than an epithelial cell), halting an undesired pregnancy is the most practical solution. Personally, I'm more concerned about this from a cycle of poverty and an overpopulation point of a view than a men's rights point of view.
