Got friendzoned hard by a few girls, and I decided that the nice-guy-white-knight routine wasn't working for me (and hell, who would have wanted to date me the way I acted then?). Really, I never completely got past the approach anxiety. It still gets to me now and then, but what did happen was that I worried less about what others thought of me and started actually showing my interest in women instead of just being their friend and hoping that they would come around. I wouldn't call myself a PU…

Well, whatever race or ethnicity you are, there will be girls who are into your people and other girls who aren't. That being said, I find that Asian and Indian guys seem to be at the greatest...cultural, for lack of a better term....disadvantage in the U.S., and my hypothesis is that the conservative culture and stereotypes play a role in that disadvantage. One way or the other, though, it's the hand that we're dealt and we have no control over ethnicity. So the short answer is...yes, but only …

I have no clue. Probably something about being more conservative, culturally speaking. Either way, the fact is that being Asian doesn't usually help, but it doesn't have to hurt either.

I'm Asian as well, and the stereotype of us being timid and non-sexual beings doesn't exactly help, but it's really only as much of a hindrance as you let it be. Every girl I've been with has been Caucasian (except for one...my first girlfriend was black). Something from "Shit My Dad Says" to think about (I'm paraphrasing because I don't remember the quote verbatim): Let her decide why she won't sleep with you. Don't decide for her.

How did a #91 end up all the way up at #71?

Not really. I don't sleep with that many girls, but I'm getting action from infinitely more than I was a couple of years ago, and something like this was probably what kicked my ass into gear, so really, you might be helping the guy out.

I'm a pretty good cook and a pretty good singer, and I'm not afraid to do either in front of others. I'm a nerd and a jock...I like math, chess, and bridge, and I was an all-conference swimmer in high school and I now play a different, more obscure, sport pretty well, having competed at a national level. I drive a BMW and I can do basic maintenance on it. I work for one of Fortune 500's top companies to work for. I'm admittedly a bit socially awkward, but at my best, I'm pretty damn fun to hang …

Umm...the same way you'd do it with shorter ladies?

Yup, I had that same realization a little over a year ago. Sometimes all we need is a little kick in the rear.

Well, yes and no. Let's use an analogy that I just made up, so it may or may not actually be applicable. Think of your goals, concerning women, anyway, as a light bulb connected to a circuit with a switch. Your own shit being together is sort of like the battery. The more your shit is together, the longer this light can potentially stay on. Shit not together? The juice in the relationship will run out sooner rather than later. No matter what, though, that light isn't going to come on until someo…

Yeah, that was funny as shit but why didn't you say something? At some point, I was that kid and you probably were too, and you're probably disgusted by that old self, as I am with my old self. Edit: never mind, read your other response. A valid point, but why do you care what a bunch of Internet strangers think of you?

The other definition is "attraction." That's what most people, I think, go for.

If you read this then you'll see that seduction is not a bad term, necessarily, but most people associate it with the more "pickupy" definition, "to lead astray."

Alec Baldwin?? Here's one of me from last weekend. I have a disembodied head on my right shoulder. Sometimes it helps, but it usually freaks the ladies out. Feel free to critique the outfit. We were going to a nightclub in Vegas. I got some compliments about the hat, although I wasn't sure about it at first. I just got out of a relationship (objectively, I'll give her a 7.5/10), and it was my first since the AFC days, so I don't have any pics of me with women I've "closed" with in any way.

Totally worth it. It sounds like you accomplished that within the first week of the class, but you waited another month before you made a move on the girl, though. When the girls in question noticed that you were that way with everyone in the class, they might have assumed that you were social and friendly to everyone, and you weren't actually interested, since you hadn't made a move.

I think you waited too long. You did good by making friends with everyone and demonstrating social proof and higher value, but once she demonstrates some interest, you should have made a move.

It can be. The point is that you don't always have to be talking to take part. Listen actively and react naturally, and contribute wherever you see fit.

I'm naturally pretty introverted, but I found that, in a group setting, I shouldn't always be looking to force myself into the conversation. Whenever I had a natural entry point, I'd add my two cents, but when I stopped forcing myself to say things, conversations became more natural and less awkward.

This is gonna get buried, but here's a theory I've heard. Men usually turn to their significant other for support and emotional connection, as opposed to their friends. Their friends are usually drinking buddies, co-workers, teammates, and so on, but not emotional "crutches," for lack of a better term, in any way. Women, on the other hand, turn to all of their close friends for support and connection. Thus, when a beta friend wants to be with her, but doesn't actually ask her out and instead tri…

For the "shit test" responses, specifically... The "alpha" responses keep the conversation going. They're funny, mysterious, engaging, and they add value to the conversation. To wit: She: What do you do for a living? Me: Guess (my usual response, especially if interested. I don't see this as egotistical or a prick response). She: Well...(says something about being Asian or wearing glasses or the car I drive or something. Conversation goes from there, and it usually doesn't involve what I do at w…

"Everyone is missing out on me" is all about adding value to interactions. It's not "I'm better than you," it's "I'm fun to hang out with and the room is better when I'm there than when I'm not."

I dunno if you're looking for advice on this one, or just wanted to put it out there. I'm not sure about the dynamics of online dating, but I'd say that 2 months might have been too long to wait until actually meeting up. I dunno if your opener was a bit over the top...did you guys have those pet names for each other while you were talking? Out of context, I might find that a bit creepy as well. Edit: Another thing. It looks like you were more invested in this than she was (driving an hour for t…

I'd say that hooking up with a married woman is crossing a line...there's no real good ending to that one.

I think so. I was pretty huge gamer in college and right after, but I stopped once I had a steady group of friends where I live now, and I hang out and go out with them a couple of times a week. Very occasionally, we play video games. I don't miss it too much, but I still pick them up a couple of times a week. I'd say I used to game around 20 hours each week, and now I'm down to around 2-3 hours.

I wouldn't do it. You hit on the main point, and it's the fact that she'd be cheating on her current boyfriend to be with you. From what you said, it seems like it would be against your own moral fiber to pursue this girl, and, for me, anyway, it wouldn't feel right to be with her under the circumstances. Also, if she'd leave someone for you, don't think that she wouldn't leave you for someone else. On the plus side, she has attractive friends, correct?
