That doesn't make it the statistically most violent dog but the dog with the most recorded violent events. You'd work out how violent a dog species is relative to the entire population of dogs. Find the average attack per dog per species and the top of that list would be the actual most violent dog species. As for that other statistic; I have heard it before but have no bone in this fight. I wandered in from /r/all and can't accept the abuse of statistics you're perpetrating there.

It's true. Moderating usually is filled by young people who want a bit of hard power in their youth to abuse, or very sad adults that need to lord it over others because of failures in the rest of their life. Of course there are exceptions but given that the pathetic power mad ones are the most visible there's a bit of a selection bias.

A field can't be sexist. Individuals within it can be and the idea that there is rampant sexism in STEM is completely devoid of evidence. The disparities come from the fact that girls aren't encouraged to pick up STEM at a younger age. Again, if they're so concerned about STEM they can step away from their social studies echo chambers and join the field and try to change it from inside. It's not their business otherwise. I can't think of any other instance where trying to change another industry…

From my observations it's fat guys that have the worst time. They get labelled various things (often neckbeard) and have a fairly terrible time when trying to find a partner. Not that I care personally, they should just lose the weight, but to say it's women who have it worse when it comes to weight is just fucking retarded.

That's all of Reddit lately. I wonder if there is a name for the trend of dedicate groups to become extreme over time, especially in environments where group approval is measured in numbers. Upvote counts are one of the things this site should allow disabling of per sub.

I don't plan to have children but why would I want to have a place just to discuss it with other people? I really can't find a reason. The benefits of not having kids are apparent enough for me to just happily be this way without needing to justify or discuss it.

In discussions about socioeconomic issues like these you really need to be up front about which country you're discussing. The OP is about the UK pay gap, yours is about the US pay gap. People might not realise this but racism, sexism, discrimination laws and other social issues differ a lot between our two countries.

Cunt is definitely worse in the UK. It's not tied to gender like these snowflakes think though. You can call anyone a cunt, dick, pussy, cock, prick, tit, or whatever. They just vary in severity. Bitch and bastard are probably the most gendered ones out there. I also don't think bastard is considered a rude/swear word in the US now I think about it.

Yeah. They're pretty convinced they're correct so they can handle some dissenting is my take on the matter. The US (online) left seems to feel it has a lot more to prove, and pretty much does themselves a huge disservice by censoring since it's fundamentally illiberal to be doing that. I personally thought Sanders was the best of the lot so by the end of it I was mostly watching with disbelief.

I'd say they were two different groups. The ones I meet who are PC tend to get upset if I say that I'm 1/8th "nigger" as a joke (since I am 1/8th black), but are fine using "white male" as an insult against me, and can't see the cognitive dissonance there, especially when I am actually disadvantaged because of my racial background. As others have said; some subreddits ban people for using other communities. It's a very totalitarian way to run a subreddit and does nothing to actually help people understand each other. For example I am anti-Trump but sometimes post in the Donald subreddit, but because of that I am banned from EnoughTrumpSpam. I also got banned from a load of subs for posting in KotakuInAction.
