Mgtow has always existed. It has just had different titles. For example, my Fair Lady - Professor Higgins? "I'm a confirmed old bachelor and likely to remain so". Lines like that mean mgtow was probably more common in the past. I think Shakespeare referenced committed bachelors as well, so I'm fairly certain other media, authors referenced bachaelors as well

From what I've seen, Venn diagram wise, mgtow is a subsect of trp that probablyly intersects with men's Rights movement, sort of. Not necessarily a stepping stone, not necessarily incel. Incels would be their own circle, that intersects with mgtow, and probably some that intersect with trp and not mgtow. While there may be a group of mgtow that aren't aware of trp, they are familiar with much of it by thought. Mgtow, can be guys in relationships, or not, guys still going out and picking up women…
