Pearl Harbor wasn't a fight we "were dragged into". The US had been putting pressure on Japan because of its expansionist policies in China and else where. We had also started to build up our navy to counter Japan. The idea that Pearl Harbor just came out of the blue with no reason is just silly. Irrevelant to thise case. This is a defemation of character case. The alleged rape is a specific act which did or did not occur. She carries the burden to prove it since she said it. His burden in bringing the action is to prove that he suffered financially from her statements. There would be no verdict in which said he was determined to be x% a rapist. She was used for defemation of character in which case its 100% on her to prove her accusations. His only burden of proof is proving damages from her statement (passed over for promotion). Civil courts generally require a perponderance of evidence to reach a conclusion (what would convince a reasonable person). This is less stringent than ,"beyond a reasonable doubt". She actually had a lower threshold to overcome and she still FAILED. That actually makes her look even worse.

So there is no real evidence for her rape allegations but also no evidence to disprove what she said? Its scary because that's not suppose to be how it works. When someone makes an accusation they have to bring evidence and prove the charge. If they can't prove the charge they don't turn around to the accussed and say: "well we cant prove its true but you can't prove its false so you're guitly". That is bizzare.

Yeah, but our man can retire on the money she has to turn over You can sue someone for millions but if they have the net worth of the average American ( about $100k ) you're never going to see a million.
