I'm a hockey ref in eastern Ontario. One of the male refs in our district was attacked by a Hockey mom at a 12 year old's game. The ref wasn't injured and didn't fight back, but was attacked nonetheless. The mother was suspended for 11 days from local arenas. Hockey Canada should have done a lot more.

Daycare isn't cheap and we felt it was important for my wife to be home with our kids. She's got a great education, a nice resume, and shouldn't have a challenge getting back into the job industry when it's time. don't seem like a typical MRA i'm a firm believer in Men's rights, but i also believe women are entitled to comparable protections

Great points! Just to clairfy, our kids are young and we made the decision (as a team) for my wife to stay home with the kiddos until they are in school full time. This means, she's always the one getting up during the night and i usually get to sleep. It's a give and take for us, and i think our kids are benefiting from it.

I work 3 jobs to support my wife and young family. "A day without women" will directly hurt me and my children and does nothing to combat the occasional sexist shithead. Human physiology is important in Combat sports. A woman is going to have different bone and muscle structure than a man. There's a reason men can lift more, run faster, and punch harder. A top tier female wrestler cannot realistically compete againt top tier male wrestler. Same for power lifting, football, mma, or other sports where explosive power is involved.
