You're fucking awesome. Thank you for your input because it helped me a lot.

"He brought up how men's issues are pressing to him. How do I explain to him this is an attack on women?" One thing that boggles my mind is how feminists will interpret criticism or advocacy for men's issues as misogyny. I remember my ex gf yelling at me about the wage gap when I brought up how her roommate would exploit guys for free dates. It didn't make sense until I saw Cassie Jaye's TedX talk on her making of The Red Pill documentary. She explained the defensive mindset of hearing misogyny …

big fucking yikes. a man with that mentality has no self-respect and is doomed to be an abuse victim.

Abuse or not, I do think OP's husband is treating her unfairly and without empathy. Which is just a no-go for a relationship. I get the impression, albeit it's just a notion, that OP's husband may be using this as justification / an excuse to ramp up his own emotions towards her. Overall, I think she has a lot more life to live and a lot more experience to get that comes with independent life.

I dont vote D and I am of the belief that the pandemic was overblown for the purpose of accelerating the interests of the very elite and powerful. However, I am calling you out because you're making a very silly equivalency. And you've managed to dig yourself even deeper doubling down.

To be fair when you talk or breathe you're blasting particles several feet in a scattershot in front of you.

I, too, have intercourse with every person who exhales particles I happen to inhale at the grocery store.

Learning not to casually be dismissive or negative in conversations was a life-changing lesson for me. Some coworkers are talking about the show New Girl? Don't jump in saying it's stupid or a lame sitcom, because although you're trying to communicate a stature thing all you're doing is telling those people "You can't like things in front of me."

You're probably right. I'm pointing more at inherent differences in how males and females perceive a potential mate. I think the 'dominance hierarchy' doesnt apply so much when it comes to males finding females, but I see that playing a big role vice versa. Edit: Although how would you define a dominance hierarchy? Finding a common definition might help better my understanding.

In a partner. And I'd argue the male equivalent is prioritizing physical beauty, and in a more mature individual prioritizing personality.

I agree with your point there. However I cant say I hear men joke about their dicks very often. Maybe about dicks in general. At least that's my experience.

I'd just like to piggy back with my own perspective. I'd appreciate someone to either agree or disagree with reasoning. As women mature emotionally, they go from pursuing a strong ego to a strong empathetic nature.

I'd partially disagree there, I've been in work settings where women talk and joke very nonchalantly about their genitals. Granted, it was a more open and casual setting than average. I think dicks being used more as a joke refers to how much more silly a willy is than a vagina. They're almost inherently comical and culturally stand as a punchline in of themselves.

I had serious issues with this. Growing up I internalized from very early on that I was unwanted and undesirable in pretty much every facet of life. It's been a hard walk to undo that conditioning, and some of the hardest was related to romantic interactions. What actually helped shatter those perceptions was A) A respectful dialogue with a woman who was serially overly afraid of men. It helped to highlight the irrationality in my thought processes, and ironically how my focus on that can rob aw…

It's a matter of, in the buildup of these internal intensely negative feelings, lashing out with said negativity at the world. Oftentimes these incels have terrible self-esteem issues that they project out on the world as a defense mechanism. It's easier to accept the perceived fact that you're unwantable if the people out there you want to be wanted by, are scum themselves. it's tragic and worthy of sympathy. But ultimately it comes down to us to fix our own shit.

Abandon any kind of ideology or imprint of what you think you should be. Discover yourself. Do things for you, because you're the most important person in your life.

Do we really need to have public outrage over every thing that happens? She just made a complete ass out of herself and acted way inappropriately. She's dug herself into a hole since then. But god damn, people, let mistakes be fucking mistakes. We don't need everyone to get fired or to be put on blast. She's gonna face her repercussions for this. You don't need to waste your vital, finite energy throwing yourself at people who you're only ever going to see on a screen.

Some people just make a complete clusterfuck out of their situation - and the wonderful thing about the world is that those people can be anyone, even women with horrifyingly empty eyes!

Postpartum depression is a vey real and very big deal. But slitting the throats of three children? No. That's serious.

I am too. She did commit assault, but I committed assault against a good friend of mine (attacked him with a golf club) and, as in OP's case, it was after a heated argument. I felt bad afterwards, and I went into counseling. But because she attacked him, it doesn't mean their relationship, which would be extremely painful to break up, is doomed.

From what he said, an argument lead to hitting one another. From what OP says, they both love each other and it's best for their daughter. OP didn't mention any prior abuse, either, so it may not be an abusive relationship. Even if it is, professional help is the best bet for OP, his lover and child. I know many people here have a bias against women who abuse men. From the sounds of it, she hit him with a hot spatula, which is awful, but he hit back, and there was no hint of previous abuse.
/r/MensRights23/01/13 02:49 PM

Don't! You need to work out your problems with each other, preferably professional help. The best thing for your daughter is to have done one who can provide and someone who can (prioritize) raising her.

I recommend sticking together but seeking professional counseling.

My best friend is a mtf transgender. That's extremely unsettling how someone would treat someone like that.

Precisely. I remember people here talking about feminists who were bitching about uneven genders in the military/hard labor/etc. We all agreed that it's the way it is because people do what they love. So why are we doing the same thing?

That is a whole other issue. A huge one at that. Though I agree, if this knife holder were a female silhouette, there'd be uproar.

I would have to agree that professional help is the way to go. But be supportive of him always. Don't mean to be rude or insulting, but what gender is OP?
/r/MensRights14/01/13 06:40 PM

No, let's not stoop to the feminist level. Part of the reason we hate then is because of how they dismiss our arguments with 'mansplaining.' If we do the same thing, we're no better than them!
/r/MensRights14/01/13 06:33 PM

Precisely. I think at this point we're jumping at anything that could be seen as offensive. Like it or not, some men do commit rape. This image addresses that in a humerus way.
/r/MensRights14/01/13 06:19 PM
-2

Exactly. It was meant as a joke. I don't understand why you're being downvoted - and I don't see how it could be taken offensively, even if the image was serious. Rape does go both ways, but it's addressing male on female rape, which is still an issue.

I've seen this before, it's meant as a joke.

Seriously? I'm a man and when I saw this knife block I thought it was funny, clever and a cool design. I didn't even see it as a man, I saw it as a person. I saw it as a joke.

Women aren't a weaker sex as the guru claims. Both sexes are equal.
/r/MensRights14/01/13 08:12 AM

Dude, apples and oranges. Don't lower us down to their standards, it doesn't matter how extreme they are! We need to be better than them!
/r/MensRights14/01/13 08:06 AM
1

Agreed. A lot of OP's post is, in fact, bullshit. Women don't (as I understand) want to be dominated. Boys aren't taught doing anything to a woman is sexual harassment. Chivalry is being a polite, courteous human being. Come on, guys. Both genders should be - as far as they can be - equal. Feminism is about control, I agree. But are posts like these making us any better than them?
