I could have written your post myself. We are the exact same. I do not imagine my feelings on this changing and I would much rather live with a close female friend than another man.

No one is messing with you, ever. I have German Shepherds but used to go to dog training with people who raised Presas and always wanted one.

I have had large imposing dogs my entire adult life and there has been three concrete non-ambiguous situations where they were a deterrent which makes me wonder how many times they deterred things I didn’t even know about. I don’t rely on my dog to protect me, if it actually came down to it, but I do rely on him to tell me if anyone is around me and to provide visual casual deterrence.

My former boyfriend just went to the dollar store and bought a new one every time it became too gross even for him. But the entire time we lived together, a decade, he did nothing about the mold on the shower wall of his bathroom.

When I first started reading this sub, someone posted something about prison dating sites. Looking at them became addictive, looking at the ad and then looking up their crime online. You would not believe (well, you probably would) the amount of men who emphasize how well they treat women only to read about their crimes, which are generally involving rape, kidnapping, or murder.

I think the laughing at someone can be the most freeing feeling. I saw my ex and went out to eat with him and one of the things that terrified me and made me angry before (chiefly driving in a dangerously aggressive manner) just amused me now. The thought that a person could get so angry at the audacity of someone who would drive the speed limit is hilarious to me now and every evening as I shut off my computer when I’m done with work, safely working from home, I imagine him raging and fuming on…

The bedding was a huge one for me. I am finally using my sheets that were too good for him to use because I hated his smell.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
