It really did. The disconnect between men and women isn’t because of the things that the article mentioned but rather the result of an over abundance of average to below average even in the dating market and women being hyper-selective on who the deem attractive/dateable (80/20).

Nope. Again, she didn’t explicitly say that. If anything, she’s projecting. What she probably considers to be “wifely” duties is just basic acts of appreciation and love that you’d find in a healthy, normal relationship. Relationships under her viewpoint would ultimately fail for several reasons. But the main would be no person worth their salt would continue a relationship where their time and energy committed towards the relationship was disproportionate compared to their partner’s. Except she’s not. What sense would it ever make for a guy to invest in a women who’s not giving him the same energy he’s giving her? A healthy relationship doesn’t operate in this type of manner. And I can almost guarantee that women who tweet stuff still expect their partner to pay their bills and perform other traditional duties a husband would do to prove of their “worthiness”. It’s hypocritical and would explain while relationship discourse on Twitter and here is dysfunctional as it it.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/22 06:36 PM

Her tweet would make some sense if said boyfriend was emotionally negligent and didn’t invest time in the relationship. But that’s not what she said nor did she attempt to clarify that. The is more of the typical case of a woman wanting her partner to perform traditional husband duties while refusing to perform traditional duties wife duties herself. It makes no sense to ask your partner for something that you’re not willing to reciprocate.

https://twitter.com/sarahhhhgo/status/1547939336544407556?s=21&t=W_WKl4Y4zc2wyr_hYAiTHA It’s amazing how so many women would rather be a side chick for a top 20% guy than settle for an average one. This mentality kinda explains why so many successful men usually don’t stay monogamous. They’re encouraged to have multiple partners and nobody bats an eye if they do.

Not at all. I acknowledged them and said that most of them fall into middle-older age category. The majority of those men are getting gray/blending services. Stuff younger men don’t really need. Unless they’re balding which is a small portion.

1

No. I’m at a loss at this point really. That’s your overall point yet you’ve been disagreeing with me on the likelihood of salon owners agreeing with me on the low number of men selecting chemical coloring? Sure, ok. Like I’ve stated several times already, men frequent hair specialists more often, pay more for regular haircuts, and spend more time grooming. So obviously the assertion that we don’t have comparative levels of investment in our hair as women do is false. Regardless, all of it has l…

Pretty sure they will. In a comprehensive survey performed by a popular Salon media company, professional hairstylists stated that less than 20% of their male clients get hair color enhancements. Based off of what I’ve seen in my years around the area, that sounds about right.

The city I’m from as well as my college is very culturally diverse. I’ve seen plenty to make an accurate assessment of what’s going on. I'm confident that if you were to question any veteran barber from either area, they’d confirm what I’m saying.

Yes. A good place to observe the current hair trends for younger men.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/03/22 05:47 PM

If you say so. Seems to be the norm at my large college and the last major city I lived in.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/03/22 03:57 PM
1

Perhaps in your area. The only additional enhancements for men that have been offered at most barbershops in the states I’ve lived in are hair coloring/bleaching. And that’s starting to fade in popularity now. Maybe this will change though
/r/PurplePillDebate31/03/22 03:22 PM
1

A common experience
/r/PurplePillDebate31/03/22 02:49 PM
1

Yes. I’ve observed most guys who select those type services are men in the older category. But for non-thinning and graying guys, there’s isn’t a need for it. Most men aren’t paying exuberant prices on haircuts because a simple haircut is all that’s really needed for us to appeal to the beauty standards society has for men. Hair wise at least.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/03/22 02:53 AM
1

It just doesn’t make any practical sense for us to pay for those additional services. A good, simple haircut does wonders for us. Anything more is just an overkill imo. As for facials, I definitely expect more men to get them as since skincare is becoming a bigger priority for us. Also, I should’ve figured you worked in the beauty industry. If my memory serves correct, I remember you mentioning in a comment section a while back.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/03/22 02:22 AM
1

Sure, some do. But it’s not really needed, nor does it really improve the haircut that significantly. Only the older (+50) guy in my community do it to keep their hair from looking gray. The vast majority of other men don’t. Facials? I won’t disagree on you there. But there has been a noticeable uptick in men getting those too.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/03/22 02:01 AM
1

I mean, I don’t think it would advantageous for most guys with to pay for those additional services. As I mentioned above, it wouldn’t do much for us. Shorter hair=less stuff to do. Specific designs in the hair? Sure. A blowout? Probably not.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/03/22 01:49 AM
1

There probably is one. Especially since there are reported cases of men being driven to brink of suicide due to losing their hair. How so when the articles I listed above showed men that spend more on haircuts when you factor out options services and that they frequent barber shops/stylists more than women do to salons? Tbh though, most of this doesn’t really pertain much to my original comment. I was merely pointing a double standard that I continue to witness on this site and in my personal li…
/r/PurplePillDebate31/03/22 01:15 AM
1

All evidence to the contrary. I’m not misinterpreting what you’re saying. But research shows that men experience the same psychological effects that women do as a result of hair loss. The loss of perceived youthfulness, fertility, and ability to conform to society’s beauty standards are probably what hits guys the hardest more so than monetary investments in their hair. Especially for younger men like myself.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/22 09:43 PM
1

For older generations perhaps. But based off of the data collected in the links I posted, that narrative is no longer the case. We’ve kinda deviated from my original point. It’s quite evident that men care deeply about their hair. The misconception that we don’t is no longer a valid excuse to justify mocking our hair loss (via medication, disease, etc) over women’s. The double standard needs to stop. This shouldn’t be hard for people to understand.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/22 07:35 PM
1

It wasn’t a small segment though
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/22 06:19 PM
1

There isn’t really isn’t an equivalent of those additional services for men. Less/shorter hair=less reasons to use optional products that wouldn’t make that big of difference. Because of this, it’s only that one compares total money spent purely from a haircut perspective. And according to the Grooming Lounge, 70 percent of men actually spend 1 to 3 hours a month getting groomed at a stylist or barber compared to 39 percent of women. The man bun isn’t that outdated and made a noticeable resurgen…
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/22 05:35 PM

As promised So from a pure haircut standpoint, guys actually spend more on haircuts per year than girls. The author noted that the overall cost for female haircare was slightly higher because of “additional services” that were mostly optional and not needed. Also, Men Now Care More About Their Hair Than Women

Recent surveys say otherwise.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/22 01:35 AM
1

In terms of styling it yes, men’s hair does require a bit less maintenance. But it’s still a harmful stereotype that men are less invested in their hair. Recent studies that have come out in the past couple of years have shown a sizable amount of men care more about their hair than women. A clear indication that people are using outdated misconceptions to justify their treatment of men suffering hair loss.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/03/22 10:25 PM
1

That’s not what I said in my comment. I acknowledged that hair loss from medical treatment can cause women to develop a poor self-image. But I never said that it was more emotionally damaging to woman than it is to men. Just because men’s hair requires less maintenance doesn’t make it any less of an importance. It well known that hair loss for men is commonly associated with the development of depression and anxiety.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/03/22 06:03 PM
1

I don’t think it’s fair to say that hair is more important to women than it is to men.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/03/22 03:49 PM
0

I’m not discounting that. I know that hair loss as a result of medical treatment can cause women to develop self-image issues. I had family friend who dealt with that. But that’s not what I’m arguing. Again, my argument is that there is a double standard in how people favorably treat women suffering hair loss compared to men dealing with the same issues. The different excuses people give to defend this type of behavior are usually very faulty and should be called out for what they are.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/03/22 03:21 AM
1

It’s true to a certain extent. I understand there’s a difference between a disease like alopecia and male-pattern baldness. The point I’m getting at is the general perception of women who suffer from any kinda of hair loss, be it the crown of their head or eyebrows, is generally more pleasant than that of men who suffer from similar conditions.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/03/22 01:35 AM
8

The Oscar incident last night kinda highlighted the difference in societal treatment balding women receive versus balding men. Men who suffer from hair loss are constantly the butt of jokes and are scoffed at when suggesting that it’s a serious issue. Balding women on the other hand are typically met with sympathy and concern. If they are teased about their condition, a backlash usually follows like we saw yesterday. Such an odd double standard.

From what I can tell, the date went smoothly so he’s probably not that boring. Shyness isn’t something that’s uncommon for a first date and I don’t necessarily agree with attributing being shy to weakness. As far as kissing goes, maybe he’s out of practice.

A combination of your first and last point. But mostly the last one. What’s interesting is that the woman in the post remarks that the guy is attractive and he was able to get a kiss out of her so he’s probably not that awkward either.

Yes, researchers used data that was collected by the National Survey of Family Growth from 2002 to 2011-2013. What’s interesting is the researchers found that the top 5% and 20% of men had a dramatic increase in sexual partners while the median number of partners for average men stayed the same. I’ve done by due diligence of reading papers about female sexuality in good faith so I’d say have a fairly decent of understanding of it. Plus, my interactions with women not only online but in real life…
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/21 07:19 PM

Yes, I think most people are aware that some guys get more sex than other men. That’s never really been a secret. However, when a small percentage of men experience a dramatic 30% increase of sexual partners in just 10 years, I think that’s worth being discussed. My comment was not written to imply that there was crisis. However, I would not be surprised if this growing trend has unintended consequences for the next generation. Also, do you really believe that what’s holding most men back from b…

The data from that survey wasn’t about OLD.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/21 05:06 PM

I disagree with some of your points but I really want to address the first one. Several studies conducted by researchers in Europe have shown that a smaller number of men are receiving a disproportionate number of likes from women in OLD settings. Years worth of data collected from a US survey group show that the top percentage of men are having much more sex now than they did 10 years prior. I do not believe that the ONLY men who have sex are chads. But I do believe that for men in general, sex…

When you think about it, this is one of the few places on Reddit besides manosphere themed subs that allows you to openly discuss redpill and similar topics without being ridiculed to hell. The influx of men in the age group you mentioned should not come as a surprise considering the majority of them are from countries that are witnessing a significant rise in sexlessness amongst younger men. I do think the average person does overrate their SMV value to a certain extent. Some of the possible causes of this could be an inability to accept being average, having hookups with individuals several points above of them, or just plain narcissism. Whatever the cause maybe, it’s definitely had an effect on the dating market.

I’ve actually been kinda taken back from some of the responses I’ve seen on this post and one similar to it. It seems like a decent number of women on here have participated in this type of behavior and don’t really see an issue with it. Mostly because they benefit from it. For me, there’s a problem with this line of thinking. Maybe I’m different but if I’m on a casual date with a woman, I might not be “exclusive” to her yet, but the goal is a committed relationship. If I’m entertaining multiple…

To a certain extent yes. However, in a study done by Wednesday Martin, it was shown that men’s sexual desire was not significantly affected by the duration of a romantic relationship while it was the opposite for the women.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/21 02:40 PM

IMO, I think the most common reason is that a significant portion of women do not see the appeal of sex in a long term relationship. They want sexual variety and feel stifled in a monogamous relationship. In one study, it was shown that women’s sexual desire drop significantly in the first seven years of a relationship. Another study showed that women were 45% more likely to lose interest in sex after being with a partner between 1 to 5 years. https://bestlifeonline.com/boring-sex-wednesday-mart…

The world isn’t black and white. There are certainly going to be those with less than desirable physical traits that happen to find love. Sometimes it’s a stroke of luck. It doesn’t outright disprove the reported averages per se, but it does add further context on why the reported number for women is lower relative to that to men. Again, women underreport their sexual activity and men overreport due to societal pressure. Several studies that predate the one I posted confirm this phenomenon as well. https://news.osu.edu/men-women-lie-about-sex-to-match-gender-expectations/ https://www.researchgate.net/publication/257663739_Gender_Roles_and_Pressure_to_be_Truthful_…

You wanted the commenter above to prove his narrative by providing sufficient data that supports it. The article that I posted does just that. The data in the article is a bit more up to date than that of the CDC and does a thorough job explaining why going off age alone isn’t the ideal way of gauging what the true average is for both genders. Also, statistically speaking there shouldn’t be such a large gap between the number of partners between men and women. As I mentioned previously, the disc…

Perhaps this article will suffice. https://www.healthline.com/health/healthy-sex/average-number-of-sexual-partners#is-there-an-ideal-number The average reported number for sexual partners for both men and women in the US is 7.2. This number definitely varies with age, location, and background so there probably isn’t a true average. A slightly larger percent of men than women lie more about their sexual history. Tbf, there’s always been a difference of sexlessness between the two genders. Based on general social survey data that I found dating back to 1989, the number of men aged 18-30 who reported no sex in the last calendar year was consistently higher than the number of women that did. Interesting enough, 2010 and 2011 seem to be to last time the rate of sexlessness between men and women were the same. Since then, that rate has skyrocketed for men while plateauing, slightly increasing, and plateauing…

I believe it’s the main cause because the constraints that once existed in the realm of dating have been lifted by OLD. No longer are people restricted to dating others only within their local community, friend group, workplace, etc. As we both know, men comprise the majority of the users on most dating apps and are typically the ones who message first on social media sites. This abundance of possible suitors has created an environment where women can afford to be selective as they wish to be wi…

In the 90’s and early 2000’s, sure I agree. But the late 2000’s and early 2010’s, I respectfully disagree. The increase of OLD isn’t solely to blame for the growing sexlessness that we’re witnessing. However, based on the data that I’ve seen it is one of the main causes of it. Most of the major dating apps and social media sites took off in the late 2000’s, coinciding with the start of the rising sexlessness for men.

I’m aware that OLD dating has been around for a while. However, in 2012 Tinder and Snapchat were still in their infancy, Bumble didn’t exists, and smart phones were still relatively new. Much has changed in the nine years since then.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/21 04:24 PM

In my opinion, OLD and social media are the two main culprits for this growing trend. In the digital age that we’re in now, people (more specifically women) have more romantic options to chose from than they’ve ever had in recent times. As their options have increased, so have their standards for what they consider to be an attractive man. Settling no longer has to be an option for many of them. Which of course means that men who do not meet said standards (no matter how distorted they may be fr…

Easy. Most dating sites have more male users than female users. Tinder and Okcupid are two sites where this is the norm. Due to the massive gender imbalance, most men aren’t going to have that much success by virtue of there being less women present. Yes, more couples are meeting online now due to the sheer number of people flocking to OLD sites. However, the growing number of people on these sites have made it so where now it’s practically a numbers game. And unfortunately, if you’re an average…

I would like to get a hair transplant in the near future as well. Finding a decent surgeon that does it at an affordable price will be a challenge though.

I was pretty active throughout high school so I still have decent athletic build and I have full beard now. Neither of them compensate for the intense hair loss I’ve experienced in the last two years.

Tried that before. Didn’t exactly work out. I have a cone shaped head. I’m screwed regardless.

Balding college student here. It sucks. Makes you look 10 years older than you actually are. Older balding guys might have fewer issues securing dates since they’re at an age where it’s expected for them to start losing hair. But for younger guys like me, it’s a death sentence.

I find it odd as well. How are so many of these manipulative guys getting with women who claim to look out for such men? And why are the women in this thread attributing this type of behavior to all men?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/21 05:26 AM

Hard to say. In my opinion, I’d probably say men. In recent years, western men are starting to understand how relatively easy it is for women to secure a partner regardless of her looks, financial status, education, etc. Now, whether said partner is high or low quality is a bit more subjective. Also, women tend not to care too much about the plight of undesirable or average men on the dating scene. Thus, many of them don’t have a firm understanding on just how hard it is for certain men to attra…

The data associated with blackpill-themed scientific articles aren’t cherrypicked nor misinterpreted to any significant degree. Many of them are peer reviewed and are simply confirmations on what’s already been observed by men that are active in the social/dating world. I’d post some of them here for discussion if it didn’t result in me getting banned. Interestingly, whenever such articles (height & income, facial attractiveness and OLD, etc) are posted in non incel/redpill spaces, they’re typic…

Those are just the extremists that exists in nearly every semi popular group. You’ll only find those type of men in places like 4chan or incel.o. The majority of romantically unsuccessful men are not active in those spaces nor do they endorse the sentiments that you listed.

There isn’t a legitimate reason to be angry at a group people that call out certain women who feel the need to bully and dehumanize ugly, short, or socially inept men.

Yes, the first study isn’t specifically about looks. However, it does highlight the fact that women are far more selective when it comes choosing a mate on Tinder. Such a disparity in likes received by women versus men can be attributed to looks and economic status. There’s a reason why money often considered the second most important thing a man must have in order to attract potential mates. It made no difference with men of course be that’s not something men are concerned with when choosing so…

Men are constantly judged more harshly on their looks in comparison to women. There’s an abundance of scientific studies that supports OP’s claim. Women are twice as choosy as men when they go speed dating. Men want to see about five women again, while women only choose to see two men again after the speed dating event https://doi.org/10.1353/jhr.2013.0010 Women generally report greater disgust than men, especially regarding sexual disgust or general repulsiveness which have been argued to be co…

Women care more about looks than men. This shouldn’t even be a debate. Men liked 61.9% of women on Tinder and women liked a mere 4.5% of men on Tinder https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0272775719301104 Men rate women more highly than women rate men https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.1177/0146167290162017?casa_token=XBcjgJx_6ZsAAAAA:B2oXZgIdCvl2gCdmwdzqQICqkkU5i4D2D0ka1HND7rfeRnWeKrBQLfW0eLEMG3dq6DJpMgDkMiSTUA Average women receive 15 times as many matches as average men on …

You understand the problem with this line of thinking correct? Why would young men contribute to a society that doesn’t care about the plights they face? Understand that this issue extends beyond the US. It has the potential to evolve into something worse if it continues to persists without acknowledging it. Also, your claim about men is a broad generalization and demonstrably false. Women movements/groups have gained considerable traction in the last few years. Men have played a role in the pro…

That’s a bit unfair of a characterization. It isn’t just sexless men who think this. The idea that women are boring is quite prevalent even amongst groups of men who do have success with women. In my personal experience, those type of guys are good at putting up a facade of seeming interested in whatever hobbies their SOs take part in. When in all actuality, they could care less about them. This isn’t a bad thing per se considering it kinda goes both ways. I think in most heterosexual relationsh…

Not entirely sure about other places, but height obsession is very prevalent in the US. This is especially true for men. Height plays a role not only in one’s ability to get a relationship, but also job selection. Preferences do tend to differ between different ethnic groups, but not by much. Hook up culture and social media platforms have played a very important role in making this issue worse considering height discrimination isn’t viewed in the same way as fatshaming.
