What to do?But I guess you paid into some other non-public fund/fond/account and that is also split 50/50? | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/04/24 06:59 AM
Dating in your 40sHow come the asset split wasn't 50/50? | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/04/24 05:43 PM
I’ve turned my heart into stoneI don't know. If we divorce I will surely stay alone so the choice is between staying in current marriage or being alone. At the moment marriage still looks the better optioni. | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/04/24 08:10 AM
I’ve turned my heart into stoneMy heart has become a stone too. Maybe different reason as I am still married and not abused, but saw a couple of stories in real life plus ended up reading stuff on this very sub. That was already enough. Maybe my heart has always been a stone. I like it this way too. | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/04/24 12:40 AM
What to do?Careful with the crazy alimony laws they have in USA. I believe it's much better in Germany. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/04/24 08:20 PM
If this is not evil then what is it? To the young guys here thinking about marriage, don't do it, she is not that amazing, she doesn't love you that much, she will definitely divorce you once she gets tired of you...despite her pretenses of feminism... Oh, there was a massive red flag then. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/04/24 08:54 AM
Forgiveness impededI think it may be possible (in some cases) to forgive cheating, some bad behaviour and so on. But if she lied in court that's a whole new level. I would never forgive my own mother if she lied in court about me. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/04/24 09:30 PM
California and life time alimonyThat's sad, I would hope a SAHD would be somehow treated fairly by the court. Was there any motive for such disdain? | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/04/24 07:45 PM
Wife threatened divorceYou can only do that if you oredict that divorce won't destroy you financially, otherwise it's a risky move. Good that it turned out well for you | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/04/24 09:45 PM
| – | California and life time alimonyThat's brutal! How did it go eventually? | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/04/24 07:55 PM |
California and life time alimonyPosts like this made me reject the idea of moving to California (from Europe) and earn stuff like 300k$ (which I could). | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/04/24 07:39 PM
Moving to California for better salary but...alimony?yeah I guess it's not common talking about alimony when deciding where to live. Anyway, I won't get an offer as I won't apply... The thing is I am mid-career and probably we can have some lean retirement in 10 years (I am a bit into FIRE), so I am at the point where making some more money is not that important, if facing such massive risk. I mean if I'll earn 25k a month, but then divorce and will have to pay let's say 10k a month *for life* in alimony, that would be the end of my life. Quite fu… | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/03/24 07:00 PM
