I'm not exactly a big government person, but actually....why NOT make it mandatory at the hospital? You cut the cord, you perform the test as, you know, a precaution. No harm, no foul. Takes the pressure off the man; he can just shrug his shoulders and say, "well, it is required." I don't see an issue with this.

Hard to say what's for attention and what's not. Personally, I think women act more impulsively but often either don't have the means or the balls (pun intended) to carry out more "successful" means like using a firearm, jumping off a building, or hanging. The idea of swallowing a bottle of pills and never waking up can be very alluring in the moment.

Honestly if men stopped pouring money into the most genuinely misandristic women (think ethots, strippers, etc), it's almost like there would be less incentive to treat men like shit all around. Not that this isn't a bigger societal issue, because it is... just adding to the spending money point

Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry. The action itself (them canceling so many time) is really bizarre, but that cavalier attitude sounds typical of the practice. True, but why shouldn't the commute count? If it weren't for the job, you wouldn't be killing time in a car and ultimately captive to a metal prison for typically 30+ minuntes a day in the first place. I've always counted it when factoring actual pay (when comparing job opportunities).
