Is this the Richmond Hill, Newmarket area? I've heard from friends that its only good in the summer, most people between the ages of 18-25 usually go to different cities for University. But when it's summer, they all come back and you can finally get practicing. Although, first dates at Wonderland are the best; talk while waiting in line, get her heart pumping when going down the ride, go to the water park and show off all your hardwork at the gym (bonus if she has gyms too and has an amazing bo…

Collateral was definitely a good Michael Mann movie, it's probably up there behind Miami Vice and Heat. I liked the transition of power from one person to the other, along with the action sequences well complimenting the artsy side of the movie. I see what you are saying where in a big city no one knows each other, whereas in the smaller towns, everyone knows each other and gets along. But for some reason, I kind of like it that way (not the corpse riding around the subway, that's a little too e…

I think you may be right. But after working for big name companies, hopefully in America. I'm probably going to settle down in a smaller town with a comfortable, well paying job. Unlike the city, there is very minimal stress, minimal competition for promotion, etc. So for those reasons, I would be okay moving in the town.

Toronto? Being one of the largest cities in Canada? Arguably, the biggest city in Canada. Don't get me wrong, there are several things I hate about it, there are as many betas and white knights as there are 3's (which is absurdly large). Sometimes the subways and busses are so crowded that you'll be in a sauna and everyone will be touching you with their sweaty arms. Etc, etc. You get the point of you lived here. Except, there are just so many things you can do here its insane. Being chased afte…

I think you completely missed the point... It was more in the lines of how being in a different environment totally changes who you are. As for the girls, I have felt that you can approach them much more easily because most of them are comfortable with the idea of approaching and talking. Whereas in the smaller cities, that just doesn't seem to be the case. And the night gaming, Damn the night game is so easy. There are so many girls I've found that are usually the sexual aggressors at a club, a…

All of these things that you suggested makes me think it's all about being content with what you have, pretty much loving yourself for you. The things I said above, requires you to try something new, something different. Its easy to lose yourself with the constant focus on the one goal. With something different, it gives you a different perspective and more knowledge to better shape yourself.

Glad to see you taking up this advice! As for the childhood, I'm guessing that you only remember the negatives. Not a bad thing, gives you more things to improve. But if you want to feel happy, try going to your mum/dad and asking them what you have done which makes them proud or happy. I never realized how many things I had done (almost all of which I had forgot), but my mum told me the past memories, how much she cherished them. That helped me alot with the "positive mentality". If you want, t…

This seems like the glass half empty... Like "I don't like Math... I simply hate it the least". If you are not miserable, you are somewhat happy in my books.

Classic example of how someone who's happy and upbeat makes you feel happy and upbeat! But if you want, you could take it up a notch. Become that happy and upbeat, after a little while, people around you will be happy and upbeat, and inturn make you feel happy and upbeat. Best upwards spiral you will get!

Treasure the people who will talk about real problems with you. There are very few of them around. As for all these other people, they talk about popular culture because that's a fairly common thing to talk about and doesn't require alot of time and effort as deeper talks... Mostly because you are seen as an acquaintance instead of a really good friend. As for the drinking, partying and shopping, it's probably because they are trying to run away from their own problems. If you become someone who…

To be frank, I feel like you do well when you are put into the situation, but before and after the situation, you start thinking about it. Perhaps when you are put into that situation, your subconscious brain just does most of the work, and you feel confident with what's happening. And then you start thinking and thinking. My recommendation will be to stop these anxiety inducing thoughts. Pick up on meditation, yoga, eating right... most importantly, sleep!. If you are up for some SCIENCE!, I'll…

If you wouldn't mind sharing, I would love to hear about the concept of self-validation. Seems like something that will help out alot of people on this sub-reddit. And about the "single" lifestyle among married friends, my advice to you (if you still have the persona of good-natured, happy-go-lucky bachelor), would be to learn to compliment them. Two things happen with this, they get "validation" or a sense of happiness hearing this from you; they feel like they are getting positive energy from …

Tell you dad about what's going on. This seems like something he should now. Usually no institution will switch the recipients unless the original recipient signs. So there isn't really a way it can happen without your dad knowing. But it'll speed up the process if you just tell your dad.

Simple breakdown: Being a virgin, presumably a teenager, you are just horny. Your brain is taking a simple common courtesy as a "bro... SHE WANTS THE D!!!". So even if she says something arbitrary, your brain will start connecting it to something you might like, instead of what you actually like. (i.e. She says she likes birds, you don't like birds, but you begin to see you might like how they can fly and use that into something you like, hence you like birds). My advice, don't even bother, girl…

Well, it's a party. Mostly everyone is going to be drunk beyond control. Your SMV will likely rise because of the drunk girls. From your description, you sound like you are going to go there, get a glass of wine in your hand, hangout by the kitchen counters in your own little circle and wait for the girls to come to you, which you will ignore and try to play the "i'm not interested" game and get pissed off when they leave. Best thing to do, go there with a couple of buddies so that you avoid bei…

I tried to challenge her. That's when I thought she was dropping her shit-test shield and was getting a bit sexual (no one really gets sexual unless they are attracted to you, right?). Anyways, I guess I fucked that up. And at this point, I'm not too sure how to challenge that, seeing as how I asked her out giving her the attention she wants.

Thanks for the reply! I think I was just caught off guard and started analyzing deep into things that really did not matter. Like my own ego being hurt and wanting revenge. Thanks for slapping me back to my senses.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
