I used to get the shame when I was younger but then as I got older I realised it was coming from worrying about what others would think of me. But later on I realised others don't matter its about doing what you want. I used to read all the red pill stuff years ago man but once I started getting out in the world I realised its about finding out your own values and shit, keep an open mind about everything if no fap works for you then more power to you.
