Ok lets assume you pay $2.75 for a subway ride, occupy 4 square feet during that ride, and the average ride is 15 minutes. There are 2190 15-minute segments in a year which means you're paying $6022.50 per 4 square feet per year. This translates to $1505.63 per square foot per year. So if you were to rent an 800 square feet apartment at the subway rate, you would be paying $1,204,500 in rent annually or $100,375/month.
