That’s why you invest in the Two-Weapon-Fighting feat, to lessen the -4 to just a -2 to your rolls, and Two-Weapon-Defense to get a +1 to your AC. It’s not much but that extra point in defense can be the difference in being gutted by a dragon or surviving. Wouldn’t help in this lady’s case though, since she was attacked while Flatfooted.

There was a movie I saw in the early 80’s where a guy gets into an auto accident, leans out while wearing large shades yelling “Get out of the way! Can’t you see I’m blind!?” It’s the only thing I can remember of it too.

Yeah, that’s the thing about trauma, like pain it’s different for everyone. I don’t wanna take away anything that has happened to those who have been hurt/molested/raped by those trying to destroy innocence, as the most traumatic one I had was the last on the list. All the others really were just events in my life, and something to talk about among those who want to listen. I know I got lucky in several of them to have escaped without being hurt or permanently scarred. Many many others haven’t.

I don’t mind sharing, to me they’re just part of my life. They all happened around age 7-10, and a few I can’t really say were even near misses, it was just avoided entirely. When I was 7 my friend (same age) and his sister (14 I think), were at my place to play on my new NES. Using the power one can hold over a child, corrupting one’s innocence (under the guise of ‘teaching’), being able to groom the child so they ‘want it’, wires in their head being crossed to find the body of a child arousing, or just plain old being horny and that being the closest thing available. There are many ways it can happen. Wish I hadn’t experienced them first hand (or, nearly experienced really, most were near misses).
