I was excited to read it even knowing the topic. I did not expect it to hit me so hard and open my eyes so much! I think this book rose to easily within my top 5 books. I dont think its perfect but its definitely eye opening. I actually am in a major where we've talked a great deal about language but this book actually made it all sink in.

Man, I can understand hating the dentist. I had a not so perfect upbringing and my teeth are horrible. That said, take care of them! Go get dental work. Build better habits. Pay for the best care possible even if you already feel so far gone. I feel for this woman. I feel bad for her. I hope that she realizes his behavior is unacceptable and leaves. I'm alright, some "scars" emotionally but im generally alright. I have anxiety and some health stuff but I generally came out fine but it sucks that it took her almost dying to get help and fixing it.

I'm so sorry thats had to be so hard, my dad is addicted to soda and cigarettes but my mom was an alcoholic and actually got a horrible disorder that almost killed her.

I dont do any of those thing and I never will. I made sure that with past partners (pre-FDS) I told them that I didn't want them doing any and if they did then I couldn't continue (though 1 had the chance to try an edible at the very end of the relationship and I didnt argue since I knew it was ending anyway). Now if I dapple with OLD I immediately ignore anyone who does any of them. And if somehow one slips through I ask the frequency and if its more than "2/3 times a year" I just politely say …

Thank you, I really appreciate the advice and insight. I wish the facts were different but im coming around to changing my mindset. Its why I posted initially, I always hear one thing but I wanted to see the other side of the coin than "well youre young thats the time to date". Thanks for the response and the thread has given me a lot to think about.

I appreciate your advice. Luckily the initial long term relationships happened naturally but I agree that I should probably take a break. I guess I just feel like I'm already so far ahead of my same age peers that why stop trying to build my life but I'm starting to come around and rethink that frame of mind. I really appreciate all the comments and its why I posted, I wanted another view point.

I appreciate the advice! My education has always came first (hence why I'm so far ahead) but its good to hear that everyone deems that the most important and reminds me that it is. I also never really though about the scenarios in which someone might ask me out but now that you mentioned them that makes a lot of sense.

I just wish i could plug all my requirements in and it pushed out a list of people. It seems like either no one meets all of them or they lie. Its been a good experience as I used to be a very big "people pleaser" but definitely has opened my eyes not to just jump into anything with anyone. I've only had 3 relationships (all 1 year+ with the last one being 3+ years) and they occurred naturally so actively dating is very new and definitely different.
