Fun fact baron-cohen is the brother of sasha baron-cohen the comedian. One of my Psy profs had him as an advisor.

Herpes is a retro-viral infection of the nerve cells - it is actually very similar to chickenpox, and yes, all it takes is skin on skin contact to transmit the disease. That said, it is less likely when symptoms are not present. However, even when there are not symptoms present, you can still contract or spread the disease.

Can you elaborate as to why you cannot drink alcohol? Not that it is necessary in anyway, I'm just curious. Moreover, what do you do with your free time? what is your lifestyle like? some of the greatest men I have ever known were NOT attractive. Approaching and being reallllllly awkward is the price you pay for growth. There are no shortcuts. The way I got my start was in a sales job where "approaching" was literally part of my job. Put yourself in a scenario where approaching is the only optio…

I went out on Halloween as Barney. It was a great time and excuse to be really obnoxious, but Barney isn't really alpha so much as he is delusional. He demonstrates extreme confidence, which is good, but he is ultimately a comedic stereotype and I would avoid emulating him. Having said that, the "Have you met X" and "Ted Mosbey, Architect" lines can be a lot of fun in the field.

Love it. "When you are trying to get a normal girl, you have to be better than every other guy. When you are trying to get a girl who has a boyfriend, you only have to be better than one guy. It's just science." - M. J. D.

Haha, all kinds of awesome; sounds like fun. Good job overcoming the AA and actually saying something to her. Moreover improvising something to do on short notice. what were you going to do if it didn't start raining? (One somewhat ballzy go-to I like to use is going to a car dealer and taking a car out for a test drive. Might be hard to pull off at 18 though.)

Awesome advice. Once you are friendzoned, all you can do is be awesome. I like steps 2 & 4 a lot. Kino is hard to learn, or at least for me it was, so having someone to basically practice casual kino with helps. Moreover, since you're just friends, you have little to lose. Step 4 is really a life lesson. If you go out and have fun constantly trying to improve yourself regardless of the outcome, everything about your situation just turns out better. I have been focusing on this for the last 6 mon…

I went to an all male catholic high school, and our Latin teacher used to talk to us about picking up women. I never took it seriously, and I don't think he really did either, but his stories would always end with getting the girl back to the "jimmy" Regardless he was always a bit of a sage and encouraged us to be as confident as we could be in all of our pursuits. I pray to God a DCC grad sees this post, but I know that Seddit is a relatively small place.

I suppose that is a fairly cynical way of putting it, but I really do feel that people who do not provide any additional social value (have no unique skills, talents, connects etc.) will at the very least fall on someone's hierarchy of friends to a lower priority than someone who can provide additional social value. This is not to say that personality, or for that matter, simple friendship doesn't matter, but it is human nature to make the most of your time. I would consider this a corollary of …

To me it is very difficult to say that making friends with a guy is dirty simply because part of your intention is to get closer to someone he knows. Whether you realize it or not, that is pretty much why you know anyone, because they know other people and can extend your social network. Don't guilt yourself, you're thinking too hard.

I envy all you teen/college age bastards that are on seddit. I could have done so much more if given access to this kind of information earlier.

Since you're going to be leaving high school soon, just experiment with stuff in the social settings. Don't burn any bridges, you'll be surprised how long you'll know some of your friends from high school, but just have fun. You're a senior, you're going to college, it is your last semester, enjoy it! To the things you're having trouble with Starting a conversation I learned how to do this when I had a sales job. The real trick is open ended questions and a bunch of stories you are comfortable t…

Also, it might be helpful to know that Myers-Briggs is one of the most unreliable personality tests in terms of test retest reliability.

I'm and INTJ as well. When it comes to social interaction and pickup it can be somewhat debilitating, but really this is only to start the interaction. Once you actually get to talking, and calm down, you'll be fine. Play to your strengths and plan out interactions. You don't have to game in the sense of meeting people in situations that already make you uncomfortable. (I hate clubs) Partake in things your already enjoy, preferably something where you are already in your element and just take th…
